We’ve worked on some cracking barn projects over the last few years! Old farm buildings offer unique features, such as double-height space, old beams, beautiful stonework, timber cladding and rustic charm. Plus, as these buildings are usually situated amongst idyllic countryside, they provide a wonderful plot.

As barn conversions continue to be a popular choice for self-builders, we asked Managing Director, Simon Orrells to answer some of the most frequently asked questions about this exciting build method in our latest blog post.

All finished on site in Llancloudy. What an amazing build! The timber frame was up in just two and a half weeks, ready for the roofers to go in. Well done to the team onsite who did a brilliant job, especially given the heat we had! 🤩

We've had lots of projects on site in recent weeks.

Brilliant to see this lovely 3-bedroom home in Yarpole taking shape. It's located in a semi-rural plot, surrounded by mature trees and will be stunning when complete. The client wanted to build an energy-efficient home, so low u values were key.

Last week we were out on site visiting this fantastic build in Herefordshire. We were there on day four as roof trusses were being craned in and it was on track to be completed in just seven days. We're looking forward to hearing the progress this week! Timber frame really is the best way forward for self-builders! 🤩

Fantastic to see this drone footage of a new self-build project in Herefordshire. The timber frame build starts next week, and as you can see, great progress has been made on site, with all the foundation construction completed and the block and beam floor laid ready.
