We supply access equipment for all types of jobs from small domestic work to larger commercial projects. We recognise the customers' demands and aim to support any specific requirements, including free site surveys should they be required, to make a project as quick and simple as possible. We cover the whole of the UK through a network of small independant companies like ourselves, so you only have to make one phone call to us no matter where in the UK you're working and we will do the hard work in finding you a machine; with the added bonus that you will always pay the same rate.

We're not talking science fiction here ... the access platform industry is genuinely exploring autonomous and semi-autonomous operation for MEWPs.

The idea is simple: reduce human error, address skilled labour shortages and improve efficiency by allowing one operator to oversee multiple machines simultaneously. It's not on hire fleets yet, but the development work is happening right now at some of the biggest manufacturers in the world.

At SWAT Access we keep a close eye on where the industry is heading so we can always offer our customers the most relevant advice and the best available equipment.

Your lifting equipment must be thoroughly inspected every six months by a competent person - not when it looks like it needs it, not when you get around to it, every six months without fail.

We carry out LOLER testing properly so you never have to have that awkward conversation on site 👊

This is SWAT Access. Not the brochure version .... the actual version 😄

What you don’t see in this video is the covered indoor training centre where we run our IPAF courses come rain or shine, purpose built and properly set up for the job (but that’s a video for another day).

What you do see is a family business that genuinely loves what it does, takes real pride in doing it properly and has somehow managed to build something worth being proud of over thirty years in the powered access industry.

We hire out access platforms, run IPAF training, service and maintain machines and offer free site surveys for anyone who isn’t sure what they need - all from our base in Preston, covering the whole of the UK and Northern Ireland.

But honestly the dogs are probably the main draw and we’re at peace with that 😄👊

What does it actually mean? It means every machine we send out has been independently verified to meet the highest standards of maintenance, safety and operator training in the industry. Not by us telling you it's brilliant, although ask us and we will 😆 but by someone else checking it actually is.

We know, we know ... everyone says they're the best. The difference is someone independent has already looked at how SWAT Access operates and gone "yeah, that's the standard." So you don't have to just take our word for it. 😄

Thirty years in the powered access industry and we're still loving what we do.

Isn't there something great about a job where every week is different? One day a scissor lift is heading to a warehouse fit-out in Preston, the next a tracked spider lift is going somewhere nobody else could get a machine into. We've seen it all, sorted most of it and learned something new along the way every single time.

What that thirty years gives you when you hire from SWAT Access is a team that genuinely knows their machines inside out, asks the right questions before anything gets booked and cares enough to make sure your job goes smoothly from start to finish. We're a family business and we're proud of it, and if we do say so ourselves, we're pretty ace people to work with too.
