Massive thank you to Manitou in the UK for bringing their demo machine to Lytham.
This is something as a company we have been considering for a while.
I think we could have now come to a decision after getting behind the controls of this amazing machine.

You may see us this week conducting work around the base of selected trees on Clifton Street Lytham. This is being carried out to address the safety concern with pavement heave and to look for a sustainable solution to this issue.

This exploration and survey work will be carried out with an air spade. This involves using high pressure air rather than manual tools to break up the compacted soil around the root system. This system does not damage the roots like conventional excavation may do.

Apologies in advance for any inconvenience or disturbance caused while this work is being undertaken.

We used our Bomford Turner Flailbot which is remote controlled and specially designed to work safely on slopes up to 55 degrees.

Some photos from Friday's emergency call out job at Lytham Hall

We received a call to say a large limb had snapped off and was hanging loose in the lower canopy of the large Clifton Oak tree at the end of the main lawn. This was a result of the strong winds from Storm Lillian last week.

We used our rigging system to remove the broken limb without causing any further damage, making the area safe again for visitors.

This wood will now be cut up and recycled by the Lytham hall volunteers and utilised around the estate.
