Real conservation in action. Wigan Council and Lancashire Wildlife Trust are working to remove the invasive floating pennywort from a lodge in Wigan; the process has been successful with support from the local Angling club. Wigan Greenheart Landscape Recovery. We are working to prevent this invasive plant from getting into the important NNRs and also ruining local fishing waters.

The flow of the river at Low Hall has changed. The river has moved back into the lower paleochannels, and the floodplain is beginning to work again.
