📍 A busy end to summer for Team JSJ UK.

With projects underway in Manchester, Peterborough and Wolverhampton, there’s a lot happening across both our Preston workshop and onsite teams.

We’re currently manufacturing a varied mix of bespoke joinery, from media walls and seating through to joinery packages for student accommodation.

This is exactly the sort of work our workshop is set up for, with a combination of detailed individual pieces and larger-scale packages moving through production before heading out to site.

Our fit-out teams are then taking over across the country, working through each programme and making sure everything comes together as planned. 🔨

It’s great to have such a strong mix of bespoke joinery and fit-out work coming through the business as we head towards the end of summer.

🔨 There’s been plenty keeping us busy at Academy @ Worden, and if you’re curious, here’s a first look at the progress so far. 👀

The space is in the middle of its transformation, and this stage is key to bringing everything together. The strip-out is complete and the next phase is well underway, with new doors being installed, spaces being decorated and fixtures and fittings shaping the final finish.

We’ve been on site throughout the programme as main contractor, while our Preston workshop is also busy manufacturing a range of bespoke joinery features for the project. 🪵

We’ve built a strong reputation for completing works on time, without compromising on craftsmanship. That’s particularly important here, with 900 pupils due back in just over a week. 👀

A new bespoke joinery project starts long before anything reaches our workshop. 👀

When our CAD and manufacturing teams review a drawing, there are plenty of things to consider before production begins.

📐 Can it be manufactured as designed?
🪵 Are the materials and finishes right for the environment?
🚚 Can the finished pieces be transported safely to site?
🏗️ How will everything be installed?
⏱️ Will the joinery stand up to everyday use?

These details can have a big impact on how smoothly a project progresses.

Our team works closely with architects, designers and contractors to review drawings, identify potential challenges and help develop practical solutions before manufacturing gets underway.

It’s all part of the process behind the finished piece you see on site. 🛠️

👀 A first look at the new entrance taking shape at Academy @ Worden.

As main contractor for the refurbishment, we know first impressions count. The new canopy will create a fresh, welcoming entrance for pupils, staff and visitors, ready for the return of 900 pupils in the new school year.

There’s plenty more happening across the school too, with our team delivering a wide range of internal worksas we work towards getting everything ready for the start of term. 🔨👏

It’s great to see the project coming together, and we’ll be sharing more from site as the work progresses.

🔨 It’s not every day our workshop looks like this…

These bespoke booth seating units are now fully assembled in our Preston workshop before making their way to a brand-new office in Peterborough.

While it might seem like an extra step, assembling the pieces in the workshop is an important part of our process. It gives our team the opportunity to see exactly how everything comes together, check the fit and finish, and make sure the finished seating looks as good in reality as it does on the drawing.

Once we’re happy, it’s carefully prepared for delivery and installation on site.

Our workshop and onsite teams are making great progress delivering the refurbishment, with the final push now underway to hand everything back ready for pupils returning.👏

What’s happening in our workshop this week? 🔨👀

It’s another busy period at JSJ UK HQ, with our workshop operating at full capacity throughout the summer as we continue delivering projects for both new and repeat clients. These latest pieces are heading out to projects across Cambridgeshire, Cheshire and the West Midlands, with our manufacturing team bringing each bespoke installation to life before they reach our onsite teams.
