A closer look at some of the detailing going into one of the Chapel House bathrooms 👀

These marble-effect tiles were one of the very first design choices we made for the space, and seeing them fully installed now, we’re glad we trusted the vision. The deep burgundy veining running through the lighter stone gives the room so much warmth and character, whilst still keeping that luxury feel we wanted throughout the property.

When we first shared the bathroom concept, it was just an idea on paper. Now seeing the textures, tones and finishes come together in real life is a pretty rewarding feeling.

At Chapel House, we’ve tried to make every room feel different in its own way, but still connected through the same attention to detail and carefully chosen materials. Slowly but surely, it’s all starting to come together ✨

One of the things we’re most proud of throughout the Chapel House renovation is how much of the building’s original character we’ve managed to preserve.

In this space alone, you can see the exposed heritage stonework, original timber beams and aged structural details that have all been carefully retained rather than covered over or replaced. There’s something special about materials that have stood here for hundreds of years, and wherever possible, the goal has always been to work with the building, not against it.

It would have been easier to plaster over everything and start fresh, but buildings like Chapel House deserve to keep their story visible. The imperfections, textures and aged materials are what give places like this their soul.

As the modern finishes, lighting and interiors continue to come together around these original features, the contrast between old and new is starting to really take shape, and we honestly can’t wait to show you all the finished result.

The last few days on site have been all about getting even more tiling work completed across Chapel House, and slowly but surely, each room is starting to develop its own personality.

This space in particular is coming together really nicely. We’ve gone with a darker marble-effect feature tile across the walls, with heavy natural detailing running throughout it, paired against lighter terrazzo-style floor tiles to balance the room out and keep the space feeling bright and clean.

It’s those little material choices that make a huge difference once everything starts coming together properly. The contrast between the darker textures and lighter flooring gives the room a much more premium feel, whilst still keeping that timeless look we’ve been aiming for throughout the whole project.

There’s still plenty left to do, but seeing rooms move from bare structures into finished spaces never gets old.

No… this isn’t us preparing for the world’s heaviest game of Jenga 👀😂

These bags are multi-finish plaster, and there’s a lot more importance to them than people probably realise.

Once all the structural work, insulation, boarding and first fix work has been completed, plaster is what helps bring a space together properly. It creates the smooth finished surfaces ready for decorating, painting and final finishes, but it also plays a big role in protecting walls, improving durability and helping spaces feel complete.

At Chapel House, we’re now moving through another stage of transforming these old spaces into rooms that actually feel warm, polished and ready to be lived in, whilst still keeping all of the original character around them.

It’s one of those materials people don’t really think about once the project is finished, but without it, none of the final details would look the way they should.

Delivery day at Chapel House 📦👀

A good one too… the new kitchen cookers arrived on site today and safe to say, things are starting to feel very real now.

After months of structural work, restoration, planning and rebuilding, getting to the stage where the finishing details start arriving always gives the whole project a different energy.

At Chapel House, we’ve always wanted to make sure every part of the space feels considered, not just visually, but practically too. That means quality materials, reliable appliances and spaces that are built to be properly lived in and enjoyed for years to come.

We’ve said it before, but Chapel House is going to be kitted out with the best of the best. From the kitchens and bathrooms right through to the finishes and fittings, no corners are being cut on this project.

Still a lot more to come, but seeing these spaces slowly come together has been a pretty rewarding process for the whole team 🔨

1 shower installed… only 11 more to go 🚿👀

Another good morning of progress at Chapel House, with the first of the shower fittings now officially in place. It’s one of those stages that starts making the rooms finally feel real, taking them from construction sites into spaces guests will actually unwind in.

A lot of work goes into getting to this point too. Behind every finished bathroom is all the plumbing, pipework, fittings and prep work that nobody really sees once the job is complete.

This is one of our plumbing team, , who’s been working across all of the plumbing installation work throughout the Chapel House project and helping bring these spaces to life.

Slowly but surely, everything’s starting to come together now 🛠️

Another bathroom space at Chapel House coming together nicely.

The tiling work in this room is now complete and safe to say, this one is already making a statement. The combination of the bold marble effect walls paired with the patterned flooring has completely transformed the feel of the space and started bringing the design vision for Chapel House to life.

It’s always satisfying getting to this stage of a project, when the structural work starts turning into finished spaces people can actually picture themselves using.

Next up, we’ll be moving onto installing the shower fittings, plumbing, sanitaryware and final fixtures throughout all of the bathrooms and kitchen spaces across Chapel House. A lot of work still happening behind the scenes, but we’re getting closer every week.

Can’t wait to show you all the finished result 🛁✨

Not a bad office view for the day… ⛰️☀️

Working up on the roof at Chapel House today with clear skies and views stretching right out across the Peaks definitely makes the long days a little easier.

One of the best things about this project is the location, surrounded by countryside, open skies and views like this in almost every direction. And the best part? Once the rooms at Chapel House are complete, guests are going to get to wake up to similar scenes every single morning.

It’s moments like this that remind us why we’ve put so much care into restoring this place properly. Chapel House isn’t just about the building itself, it’s about the setting, the atmosphere and the experience of staying somewhere right in the heart of it all.

Safe to say… we’re very excited for people to finally see it for themselves ⏳

A pretty satisfying sight to see at Chapel House 🏠

The scaffolding is finally down, the sandblasting work is complete, and for the first time in a long while, we’re getting to properly see the building starting to shine again.

Stripping everything back has brought so much character out of the stonework — all the original textures and details that had been hidden away over the years are now back on show, exactly how they should be.

Projects like this take time, but moments like this make it all worthwhile. Seeing Chapel House slowly come back to life stage by stage has been a really rewarding process for the whole team.

Now the big question is… does it stay natural, or is it time for a fresh lick of paint?

Another stage starting to bring the character of Chapel House to life. 👀

The team are currently at the plastering and finishing stage on these vaulted ceilings and walls — one of those phases that completely changes how a space starts to feel. What was once an exposed shell is now beginning to feel warm, structured and ready for the next layers of the build.

On a project like this, it’s all about balance. We’re carefully introducing clean, modern finishes while still preserving the original stonework and heritage details that give the building its identity. The contrast between the freshly finished surfaces and the exposed stone is exactly what makes spaces like this work so well.

These walls and ceilings aren’t just cosmetic either — they’re helping improve insulation, airflow, acoustics and the overall comfort of the property once complete.

There’s still plenty to do, but with every stage, Chapel House feels more and more like the vision we’ve had for it from the start.

Back at our barns development in the Peak District this morning and this was the view greeting the team at sunrise 🌅

It’s not a bad way to start the day. Out here, you’re reminded exactly why these projects matter, restoring and redeveloping spaces in locations like this is something we don’t take for granted.

Plenty more work ahead on this one, but mornings like this make it all the more worthwhile.
