📢 New Project Secured

We’re pleased to have been awarded the electrical package for the conversion of this former primary school building into four 4-bedroom homes.

This is a fantastic project that will see a historic building transformed into high-quality family homes while retaining much of its original character.

The development is progressing well, with Plot 1 now almost ready for our team to begin first fix electrical works.

We’re looking forward to getting started on site and will be sharing progress updates as the project moves forward.

⚡ Electrician Required – East Lothian ⚡

Due to continued growth and an increasing workload, I’m looking for an experienced electrician to join my electrical business on a part-time basis initially, with the potential for additional hours as the business continues to expand.

The role will involve a variety of domestic and commercial work across East Lothian, Edinburgh and surrounding areas, including:

✔ Domestic installations and upgrades
✔ Fault finding and repairs
✔ Consumer unit replacements
✔ Commercial installations and maintenance
✔ General electrical work

I’m looking for someone who is:

✅ Reliable and professional
✅ Able to work independently and take ownership of jobs
✅ Experienced in domestic and/or commercial electrical work
✅ Holds a full UK driving licence (preferred)
✅ ECS card holder (preferred)

Employed or self-employed/subcontractor arrangements will be considered.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking for flexible part-time work with a growing local business and a varied workload.

⚡ Monday again… who signed off on that? 😅

The van is loaded, the first coffees are down the hatch, and we’re out across East Lothian getting stuck into another busy week.

A wee shout-out to our trainee Harry, who finishes up with us today before heading off for two weeks for a much bigger job than anything we can throw at him… getting married! 💍🥳

Everyone here would like to wish Harry and his soon-to-be wife all the very best for their big day and a brilliant honeymoon.

We’ll be making the most of having him on site today before he swaps his work boots for wedding shoes. Although knowing him, he’ll probably be counting down the hours until knock-off time! 😂

Congratulations Harry, enjoy every minute of it, and we’ll see you back in a couple of weeks as a married man. ⚡🍻 #⚡️🍻

Another busy week ahead for the team 👌

This week we’re working across a range of domestic and commercial projects including:

⚡ A large commercial EICR over in Leith
⚡ New kitchen installations in Musselburgh & Edinburgh
⚡ Consumer unit upgrade later in the week
⚡ Remedial works following failed inspections
⚡ Second fixing on an ongoing refurbishment project in Portobello
⚡ Meetings at The Glen Golf Club regarding ongoing upgrade works

No two weeks are ever the same, which is one of the things we enjoy most about the job.

Whether it’s testing, upgrades, fault finding, refurbishments or final finishes, we always aim to deliver reliable work, good communication and high standards from start to finish.

We’re getting more and more clients asking for a clean kitchen splash-back finish lately… meaning no switches or sockets on show 👌

To achieve this on this kitchen, we used 2 compartment trunking fixed securely to the backboard inside the cupboard to hide all the controls away neatly out of sight.

Not the easiest setup for us to install with the amount of cabling involved, but once it’s all complete the finish looks clean, modern and tidy — definitely worth the extra effort 🔥

A few recent jobs keeping us busy lately ⚡️

A big 1st fix extension underway for a new builder — right in amongst our working area as well 👌 Always good working alongside quality local trades and helping keep projects moving in our own area.

We’re still continuing to help customers locally with EV charger installs too, using chargers built and manufactured right here in East Lothian

Alongside that we’ve been getting involved in larger tender packages which has been great for building experience and pushing things forward as a team. Harry has hit the ground running since joining us and another new lad has been completing work with us too — things are ticking along nicely and everyone seems to genuinely enjoy being part of it.

Another challenging consumer unit upgrade completed

This one definitely kept us on our toes. Once we opened things up, we found multiple issues including 4 lighting cables each terminated into both circuit breakers and several radial circuits incorrectly protected on 32A breakers. A lot of tracing, testing and fault finding went into getting this installation safe, organised and compliant again.

Full rewire of the board carried out with circuits identified, corrected and properly protected, along with full testing and certification on completion ✅

A big mention to Harry, our trainee, who got his first real experience of a major consumer unit change and the importance of safe circuit identification and testing. Great learning experience and handled the job really well 👏
