Nice day for a walk through Belleisle Park and gardens Ayr, well kind of ๐ŸŒง๏ธ๐Ÿ˜„. Immaculately kept and I really like to see the ever changing colours and shapes as the mature trees and shrubs come in and out of season. In particular the Cornus with their bright pink flowers were a standout and the Pyracantha hedge a mass of scented flowers with the Hostaโ€™s looking very well growing in the shade of the walled garden ๐Ÿ’ฏ๐ŸŒณ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒณ๐ŸŒธ.

Powder coated metal garden arch put together and fixed into position today. Iโ€™ll plant one each of the David Austin climbing scented roses โ€˜The Generous Gardenerโ€™ and โ€˜Strawberry Hillโ€™ either side of the arch and train them to grow eventually to intertwine with each other. ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒบ๐Ÿ’ฏโ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜Ž

How good do these two climbing roses look ? Superb condition and packaging from David Austin Roses. Both English climbing roses suited to the Ayrshire coastal weather and both scented. Donโ€™t think I would buy a rose that wasnโ€™t tbf. These are going to be planted either side of a metal archway ๐Ÿ’ฏ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Clipping the Box balls ๐ŸŒณ๐ŸŒณ๐ŸŒณ๐ŸŒณ back into shape today with hand held sheers, the only way really, then clipping the new growth down to the flowers on the Pyracantha hedge. These flowers ๐ŸŒบ will form
Into colourful berries in the Autumn and doing this now helps them to fill out and ripen, although the local Blackbirds always have an eye on them too.

Note the contoured shape of the top of the Pyracantha hedge, a bit more interesting than a straight line hedge I find. Anyway a good job done and helps to build back my fitness, strength and stamina ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿปโ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜Ž
