The veg plot is a bit empty after using up the potatoes 🥔 & lifting the onions 🧅 shallots 🧅 & garlic 🧄. I have one row of radish 🫜 growing that was planted a few weeks ago. I’ve added 🫜another row today as well as a row of Pak Choi 🥬 & two rows of Kale 🥬. Probably just pick those as leaves as they grow at this stage of the season. 🤞the seeds germinate 🌱🌱🌱.
A bowl of ripe tomatoes 🍅 & sweet 🫑 & chilli 🌶️pepper from the greenhouse along with onion 🧅 & garlic 🧄 I’ll make this into a sauce/base for meatballs etc. Rosehips & leaves slowly turning into the next season’s colours 🍂🍂. Everything moves along naturally..

The mixed garden hedge is beginning to take on its autumn colours. Rosa rugosa, purple beech. Pyracantha, clematis, honeysuckle, crab apple..

A new Marshalls Gardens and Driveways product guide delivered a week or so ago, wasn’t sure about it at first, although now I’ve used it twice today to show prospective clients the products discussed & they can easily view online via the QR codes, it’s a V good tool for the ⭐️Marshalls Registered landscape Contractor⭐️💯⚒️

Here’s hoping I can go back to building some quality gardens next year 🤞💪🏻😎

Autumn planted garlic 🧄 lifted today, shallots last week. Not too bad a crop, pungent and sweet, not bitter at all. First of the second early potatoes lifted too, ‘Charlotte’ planted exactly two months ago and a very good crop. That’s about a kilo from one plant. Lift them and eat them straight away to maximise the flavour & goodness, skin as well 🥔. Onions 🧅 I’ll leave in the ground for a few more weeks, they like the dry warm weather we’re now having 🌞 and swelling nicely.
I’ve forked over the ground from the lifted shallots and garlic and added some well rotted manure ready for re-planting 🪏. 🌱

Honeysuckle doing its thing, attracting winged insects. In this case a bee and two hover-flies. My garden attracts lots of hover-flies I’m glad to say. Plant them and they will come 🌳🌸🌼 🐝
