Can you get financial help towards solar panels, battery storage, an EV charger or a heat pump?

The honest answer is: it depends — but in many cases, yes.

We have just published a complete guide to every major UK green energy grant and incentive currently available in 2026, including:

✅ Warm Homes Plan — up to £15,000–£30,000 for qualifying lower-income households (income ≤ £36k, EPC rated D–G)
✅ Boiler Upgrade Scheme — £7,500–£9,000 toward a heat pump installation (confirmed until March 2027)
✅ EV Charger Grants — still available for flat owners, renters and landlords (not standard homeowners with driveways)
✅ Smart Export Guarantee — ongoing payments for electricity you export from your solar panels
✅ 0% VAT on installations — confirmed until 31 March 2027, then rising to 5%

We installed a solar and battery system on a bungalow in Peacehaven two months ago. Yesterday we checked in on the data — on a 31°C day in East Sussex.

By early afternoon:

→ 14.20kWh generated
→ Battery at 98% charge
→ Grid import for the whole day: just 1.10kWh (before sunrise only)

The property ran on solar and stored energy for the rest of the day. Self-consumption: ~99%.

The system — 8 Aiko Neostar 2S 465W panels, SolaX hybrid inverter, 10.2kWh battery — was designed to match what this household actually uses. Not the biggest system that would fit on the roof. The right one for the property.
