⚠️ THIS IS WHY ELECTRICAL SAFETY MATTERS ⚡️
A few examples of burnt and heat-damaged electrical accessories we’ve come across recently while carrying out electrical work and inspections.
Loose connections, poor terminations and ageing or damaged equipment can lead to serious overheating and potentially create a fire risk — often without the homeowner even knowing there’s a problem.
This is why it’s so important to:
⚡️ Always use a qualified electrician for electrical work — poor workmanship or incorrect connections can have serious consequences.
⚡️ Have your electrical installation inspected and tested periodically to identify deterioration and potential faults before they become more serious.
⚡️ Make sure your consumer unit (fuse board) provides appropriate modern protection. Older boards may lack safety features found in newer installations, such as RCD/RCBO protection and surge protection.
🔥 Burning smells
🔥 Discolouration or scorch marks
🔥 Buzzing or crackling
🔥 Hot sockets, switches or accessories
🔥 Breakers/RCDs regularly tripping
Don’t ignore the warning signs. Get your electrics checked.
