We’ve not had any updates in a long time so we are taking it right back

Heating system converted from a conventional system to a Combi boiler, allowing the customer to get mains pressure showers 🛀🚿

Shifted the boiler up to the converted loft space to regain storage space in the former airing cupboard for the customer. The boiler was ranged rated the heating back to suit the heat loss of the house and added Tado smart controls to maximise the heating efficiency 🔥

Spent the end of last week ripping out out an old back boiler and the hot water tank to fit the new Glowworm Compact with a 5 year warranty to give them peace of mind 🔥

Flow rate out the hot taps have greatly improved so the customer doesn’t have to wait so long for the bath to fill up on these cold winter days 🛁💦

With their new Tado smart thermostat the customer can control their heating from anywhere they like 📱

1615 days since my first brain haemorrhage,
902 days off work,

Hello to all my lovely customers,

I’m sure a lot of you know I had brain surgery back in March and had to have a minimum 6 months off driving. I was buzzing to get back out there and I was really expecting to be back soon!

Now unfortunately I suffered a big seizure on Saturday morning which put me in hospital and means I have to give up my drivers license again until I can go seizure free for a year. I’m really sad to say that this has forced me into finding alternative work solutions. I managed to survive 7 months not working but there’s absolutely no way I’ll be able to survive 12 more.

I’m absolutely gutted I had to write this because I made so many customers in such little time! I will be back at some point in the future, hopefully November 2022 but until then if you keep messaging me, I’ll be able to pass on the details of one of my mates who will be able to sort you out in the meantime.

The cold weather is here and it’s frozen condense pipe season 🥶🥶 it’s important to make sure your condense pipe is installed correctly and lagged to help prevent it from freezing!

This customers hot water was constantly going hot, cold, hot, cold. Pulled out the plate to have a little look to see what that was like and found the primary side completely blocked with sludge. Managed to get hold of one locally so the customer can have a nice constant hot shower tonight! 🚿🔥

So there we have it, my first two and a half months have been unbelievably busy, more than I could ever expect for first starting self employed. I think I set my target a little too high but we still manage to make £70 for charity through my amazing customers wanting their boiler serviced and donating to charity.

A massive shout out to Kyle Lucas at Lucas gas who also kindly donated £50 to the cause (Andover friends give him a shout for any heating or plumbing problems).

And because it’s Christmas I’ve decided to top up the money so we reached the goal. Hopefully this money will go a bit of the way to making children less fortunate to have a better Christmas!

A massive thank you to all my customers this year, it’s been a strange one with everything going but you’ve all been amazing. That’s me pretty much done for this year now, I won’t be attending any non emergencies now until the new year but I will still have my phone on for any emergencies if any of you have some over the Christmas period.

I wish you all have (somehow) a very merry Christmas and a happy new year and I’m looking forward to seeing you all in 2021 🎄🎄

Living in a hard water area keeps me busy!

This customer was complaining that the flow of water out his hot taps has been reducing more and more over the years. From the pictures you can see why....

Pipework coming out the top of cylinder was replaced so it’s offering full bore and the hot water was flowing again 💧🚰

We out here on a Saturday doing an emergency call out 🚨🚨

The immersion heater was left on and the stat on it failed, causing the cold water storage tank to boil and fill the loft with steam. It was only noticed when the toilets were flushing with very hot water!! Customer did the right thing by opening up the bath taps to drain away the hot water but in doing so it caused one of the waste fittings to crack and water to come through the ceiling. They’re very lucky that the tank in the loft didn’t split and cause an even bigger mess!!

Had to carefully take off 4 tiles (3 out of 4 survived, thank god they were dot and dabbed 😂) and make access into the boxing to expose the leak. Must of been about 1mm of pipe exposed to cut before it went under floor level but managed to get a multi tool in there cut the pipe, stick a street elbow and straight coupling on and the customer can use the bath again without the worry of bringing down the ceiling 🛁🛁

Late one last night swapping out the gas valve on this old girl. Customer had no heating or hot water in this cold weather and was desperate to get it back on. Managed to source one locally so the customer could get the heating switched on and the house warmed up🔥🔥

Fault called in, diagnosed and replaced in one day = one very happy customer.
