🌿 WHY CUT A ROOT-BOUND PLANT BEFORE REPOTTING? 🌿
Ever pulled a plant out of its pot and seen a tight swirl of roots wrapped in circles? That’s called root-bound — and leaving it like that can actually hold your plant back.
Here’s why you should loosen or lightly cut those roots before replanting 👇
✨ 1. Stop circling roots
If planted as-is, roots may keep growing in circles instead of spreading into fresh soil. Over time, this can weaken the plant.
✨ 2. Encourage healthy new growth
Gently teasing apart or scoring the root ball stimulates new roots to grow outward — helping your plant establish faster.
✨ 3. Improve water absorption
A compact root ball can repel water. Loosening it allows moisture and nutrients to soak in properly.
