Another accreditation to add to the list! ✅

We're pleased to announce that Elemy has achieved Constructionline Gold accreditation, along with SSIP certification! 🎉

Constructionline Gold demonstrates that we've met the pre-qualification requirements for public and private sector procurement, while SSIP certification recognises our commitment to health and safety.

These latest achievements sit alongside our existing ISO 9001 and BS EN 1090 Ex*****on Class 2 certifications, further strengthening our credentials and giving customers confidence in the quality and reliability of the services we provide.

Not a bad view from a local dock company.. 🌊☀️

Always nice to work on a little project close to home in Teesside!

We were recently tasked by the local council to help replace an old footbridge in a woodland in Saltburn-by-the-Sea that had reached the end of its life. The existing bridge was deteriorating, becoming a major slip hazard and needed replacing quickly to provide a safer route for the public.

Our team came up with a simple modular GRP design that we could fabricate and turn around quickly at our Redcar site, while also making it straightforward for the council team to install on site.

GRP is a great fit for this kind of environment. It won’t rot or corrode, needs very little ongoing maintenance and the gritted walking surface provides excellent slip resistance – particularly important on a public footpath surrounded by trees where wet leaves, mud and damp conditions are a given.

And if you're wondering why the finished photos look like the bridge ends a little abruptly... the council will be installing a concrete access ramp on the approach to complete the route.

GRP Mini Mesh installed on the Trent & Mersey canal 🌊

Constant exposure to water and the elements means traditional materials can quickly become slippery, rot or corrode. GRP doesn’t rust or rot, requires very little maintenance and its gritted surface provides excellent slip resistance underfoot.

The smaller openings of mini mesh also make it a more comfortable walking surface, while still allowing water to drain straight through making it ideal for marina jetties, pontoons, waterside walkways and access platforms.

It’s lightweight too, making panels easier to handle, install and remove if access underneath is needed.

A busy start to the week here at Elemy! 🛠️

This GRP access platform is taking shape in our workshop, designed and fabricated specifically to fit around two silo tanks.

It’s also a great example of the work we can deliver alongside our colleagues at Anglia Composites. With two fabrication workshops to call on, we can share workloads, increase capacity and help keep lead times down when things get busy – all whilst combining the experience and expertise of both teams.

Plenty more going through the workshop this week too so it looks like it’s going to be a busy one!

From design to fabrication to installation ✅

This bespoke GRP wash bay has been designed to provide a durable, practical and corrosion resistant solution for a demanding environment

The wash bay consists of a GRP channel system with adjustable pedestal feet, GRP Mini Mesh grating, and GRP beams and angles for structural support. The lightweight nature of GRP makes the system easier to handle and install than traditional materials, while also allowing sections of grating to be easily removed when access is required for cleaning and maintenance of the channels below.

GRP Mini Mesh is particularly well suited to car wash and wash bay applications. Its smaller apertures provide a more comfortable and secure surface for both pedestrians and vehicle traffic, while still allowing water to drain efficiently through the grating. Combined with GRP's excellent slip resistance and resistance to water, chemicals and corrosion, it's an ideal choice for environments that are regularly wet.

A nice before & after from a recent job in Northallerton!

We recently helped get a busy pedestrian footbridge back open after its existing timber walkway reached the end of its service life.

The bridge provides an important access route to local allotments, but after many years of use, the timber decking had deteriorated significantly due to wood rot. The bridge was subsequently condemned and closed. Northallerton Council approached Elemy Ltd looking for a durable, long term replacement, and with the route needing to reopen as quickly as possible, time was important.

⚡From initial enquiry to supply and installation in just 7 days:
Our team replaced the old timber walkway with 53mm solid top GRP decking, with the complete installation carried out in just half a day.

The works included removing and disposing of the old timber deck, preparing the existing support structure, packing the supporting steelwork with 50mm square GRP box section, and installing the new GRP walkway.

GRP is a great alternative to traditional timber for pedestrian bridges because it:
• Won’t rot or corrode
• Requires minimal ongoing maintenance
• Provides excellent durability
• Offers a slip-resistant walking surface
• Is lightweight, making installation quicker and easier
• Provides a long service life, particularly in exposed outdoor environments

And most importantly, the bridge is back open and ready for plenty more foot (and paw🐾) traffic. In fact, swipe to the end to see one of the first visitors across the new bridge - Foxy the dog!

From initial enquiry to delivery to site in 72 hrs🚀

When a customer came to us with an access problem this week, we knew a quick turnaround was extremely important to them. From an image of their current platform with a sketch of what they were looking for, to a fully fabricated stepover delivered to them in just a few days. With a new durable solution that will not rot, rust, or corrode, safe access across these cables is no longer an issue.
