MP Civils recently completed a domestic driveway in Redditch, just a couple of doors down from another job which we completed a couple of years back. This project was certainly no mean feat with plenty of weird angles, falls and shapes to follow, however the transformation is remarkable from the old, tired driveway. Some fantastic colours chosen by our valued client, and plenty of compliments by passers by, too! We installed a cobbled, 3-sized paver with a charcoal KL kerb perimeter, recessed manhole cover and rustique porcelain front step, which we think looks great. MP Civils recently undertook a domestic job in Malvern for a valued customer, comprising of the installation of a culvert and associated headwalls. Our client started with a picturesque but unusable space, with the existing timber retaining features slowly failing. Our brief was quite simple, to make the space more usable and leave a blank canvas for fencing and landscaping works to commence. We overcame some very awkward access constraints, utilising a crane to safely and efficiently lift the culvert pipe into place. We completed the headwalls and re-shaped the existing garden levels to suit the perimeter constraints, only having to import our pipe bedding material. Many thanks to our supply chain for their assistance with this one (with a special mention to the lads at Pump X Ltd for going above and beyond!) and thank you to our clients for entrusting us with the job. Excited to see how the landscaping progresses!

MP Civils undertook an EV charger civils project for a valued client back in December within Stansted Airport. We completed the work over two weekends to minimise disruption to the end user. We installed 4 charger plinths, with each plinth having it's own dedicated duct, and reinstated the areas as if we were never there, handed over snag free to our client's electrical contractor. Delighted to finish our Basingstoke job, with a significant milestone being the completion of this 2.7m diameter, nearly 8m deep concrete soakaway chamber. This chamber was installed as a like-for-like replacement as a new concrete bund was being built near the old one, which we filled in. The digging reach on this 21 ton excavator was not enough, so we used a clamshell attachment with a 2m extension to reach the bottom of the dig. We installed the concrete rings and backfilled with nearly 200 tonnes of granular material. All of this work was carried out amongst live services, with lots of trial holes and exposure to determine the exact position of nine 33kVa electric cables! This project is a perfect example of the complex projects which we undertake and others may avoid. A nice little surface water sewer connection carried out in West Brom last week by one of our streetworks gangs, 5 day duration under traffic management. Extremely hard digging but no match for the vac-ex, thanks to RCE helping us excavate safely and avoid the million services! The existing manhole was extremely hard blue brick but we persevered cutting and breaking through before installing a new clay channel and re-benching the one section neatly. Throwback to last month where we replaced an outdated fence on a rental property for a long standing client near Chelmsley Wood. Very hard ground so very hard digging and breaking, we also removed the old concrete posts. We were in and out within the day to avoid leaving the garden exposed. We have been putting the finishing touches to a fully permeable driveway installation which we have been commissioned to screed and lay with prep by others near Wolverhampton. 80mm monoblock on a fully permeable bedding aggregate for SUDS compliance on a new build project. Nice little footing poured at Water Orton today ready for a single story extension to be built. Our next step is to prep for the ground bearing floor slab which will continue next week. We will have taken around 100 tonnes of material out of this job once complete, 11 cubic metres of concrete in, 10 tonnes of stone in and not a spec dropped on the neighbours shared access. Today sees the completion of a large turfing job carried out for a lovely returning customer near Bromsgrove. We removed the existing vegetation, turned the top layer of soil over and removed the existing lumps and divots to leave a smoother flowing lawn, we also seeded and top dressed to transition from existing to new lawn for a better finished product. This is the final piece of the puzzle on this project after previously completing the fencing and garden room base. Feel free to get in touch if we can help with your project, we'd be happy to help!

Before and after of a linear drainage installation to alleviate surface water ponding and damp problems on a property in Staffordshire. We carefully lifted the existing paving, core drilled into an existing manhole and laid a trapped connection to prevent smells from coming back from the combined drainage system. We then installed linear drainage and reinstated as if we were never there. Feel free to get in touch if you have anything groundworks or civils that you require assistance with!
