Re roof in Studley, Warwickshire…

What started out as a simple bit of pest prevention around existing solar panels unfortunately turned into a new roof for this home owner.

Without any visible signs of water ingress or damage to external tiles, we examined the roof to see what was causing tiles to slip.
The existing roof was installed incorrectly when the house was originally built. Tile head laps were not installed correctly so over the lifespan of this roof during heavy rain, water has been trickling back up behind the tiles and then causing the roof Battons to perish.

New felt
New Battons
New tiles, with an extra row to allow correct tile overlap.

All work signed off by local authority..

Happy customer with a roof that actually works..

What’s the best system.??

I always say it depends on the job..

This job had terrible access in the center of Stratford upon Avon, everything was old and wonky donkey, flat roofs were all at different levels with upstands and parapet edges..
So we went for a full GRP install so minimise future problems with seam applied roof coverings like felt and rubber have.
The weather stayed dry and everyone lived happily…. Ever….. after….

And dry!!!!!

Not a drop of insulation in this flat roof dormer over bathroom….
Flat roof was designed by a crazed loonatic who like to reverse pitch, so the water ran back towards the tiles not over front edge into gutter.
Destined for problems in my opinion..
We swapped the pitch now so water runs into a front gutter and out through a down pipe at side of dormer…

Not a drop of insulation behind this old felt cladding to front of this house in Crabbs cross.
We removed the old cladding and managed to shoe horn in 25mm of solid insulation board to give a better thermal value to downstairs kitchen and upstairs bedroom. Customer has said the small increase has already made a difference and we also used expanding foam gun to cut off draught points where cold air was being pulled into the rooms.
Finished off with an anthracite composite cladding system to match the new front door.

We can help you save on energy costs by adding insulation to loft areas or these old style cladded areas to houses where insulation wasn’t ever installed when originally built.

150mm Warm roof installed with single ply rubber membrane, to ensure this garage conversion we just completed stays nice and toasty but more importantly compliant to building regulation for final sign off as a new room.
Internally we installed an underfloor heating system for this new downstairs bedroom,
Triple glazed windows to minimise noise from outside, all internal walls plaster and paint finish. Ready for the family’s one of three triplets to get their own bedroom space..
Lovely customers on this one!!
The home made cheese cake went down well with the lads!!!
