Turning waste into something worthwhile ♻️

At SGE-Services Ltd, we’ve started saving and recycling our cable offcuts rather than allowing them to go to waste.

Today, we took our first collection of scrap copper in — and we’re really pleased to be able to donate £180 to Jigsaw South East. ❤️
This is just the beginning, and we’re hoping to continue building up our scrap collections and making regular donations.
For us, it’s a simple way of becoming a little more sustainable while supporting a charity and cause that means a lot to us.

Today, Stephen & other members of the SGE Services Ltd team joined a webinar hosted by .homes and the , learning more about Bellway’s Reduce Our Rubble campaign and the importance of improving resource efficiency across construction.

It was a really useful session, highlighting how better planning, accurate ordering, waste segregation and the reuse or responsible recycling of materials can make a meaningful difference across every project.

As an electrical and M&E contractor, the session has encouraged us to look more closely at the practical steps we can take to reduce cable and material waste, improve efficiency and support more sustainable project delivery.

We already have some ideas taking shape around Every Cable Counts.
