Even the small things could harm someone. Don't leave your plugs like this. very easy to get a shock from this kind of thing. Seems obvious , but apparently it's not! ⚡️

Safety announcement. Did you know?

These inserts that are used to cover sockets can do more harm than good! ⚡️

The plastic pin that goes into the top hole on the socket can snap off. This can leave the shutters open on the holes for live and neutral pins.

British sockets are already designed to limit access to the live and neutral pins when a plug isn't inserted.

The pictures are from an electrical inspection that I have recently carried out. The plastic pin can be seen in the top hole. I have now removed the pin, the sockets now work as the have been designed.

I see this quite a lot whilst carrying out electrical safety checks. The piece of cardboard on plugs showing how it's wired needs removing before use. The plugs can sometimes get hot leading to a sorce of ignition! 🔥
