NOVA architecture+design was set up in 2013 In Reigate, Surrey by Elena Draganova after over ten years experience working on award winning projects with London practices Bennetts Associates and Haworth Tompkins. NOVA architecture+design is committed to beautiful contemporary architecture, which addresses the needs of the clients/users and fits within the context of the site. We believe that unders

tanding the client’s ambitions and the character of the site is the key to producing a functional and elegant design. We offer full range of architectural services: from initial concept sketches to construction detailing and site inspection. We have comprehensive knowledge of the planning system and extensive experience working in historic contexts and with listed buildings.

Why choose between sliding and French doors when you could have both.

In this project we challenged the preconception that one large opening provides the best light and connection to the garden.
This design includes sliding doors, French doors with overhead glazing and a low-cill window. They all have different roles to play.

Views to the kitchen and the front door at our recently completed project.
A line of sight and circulation from the front door to the garden was the main concept that shaped this design.
Clerestory windows to the new utility room on the left bring borrowed light into the deep plan.
The classic shaker style kitchen by boasts some beautiful details like antique mirror back picking reflections of the garden planting and reeded glass cabinet doors.

Recently completed face-brick extension, which elevates a Victorian property.
This house had generously-proportioned rooms, but suffered from an awkward relationship with the garden, set two metres above ground floor level, and dark ill-conceived rear extension with a conservatory. We find inspiration in the challenges of the site.

It was amazing to work again with a wonderful client on their second home. They have put it together beautifully. Interior views to follow.

This wine cellar has walnut and smoked mirror panelling and oak herringbone floor, complemented by Tom Dixon’s Melt light fittings for a warm mid-century bar look.

We love the challenge of working with historic buildings.
The owners fell in love with this quaint arts and crafts house when they first viewed it, but it had a cramped ground floor plan and a huge traditional conservatory, which was too hot in summer or too cold in winter, and obscured the views from the first floor bedrooms.
The extension design draws a line between new and old by using contemporary massing and detailing. However, the materials and colours were selected to complement the existing in order to achieve coherence of the whole.
