It was a frosty one last week for our team, completing this full re-roof using brand new Welsh Penrhyn slate, all traditionally hand cut.

We had the pleasure of reroofing this grade 2 listed building for a wonderful client using brand new Ffestiniog blue-grey slates, hand cut using traditional slate axe and slate iron techniques.

The Tudor rose was cast on site, creating a bespoke finishing touch.

Altogether we:
✅ Stripped the original roof
✅ Built two new gable ladders
✅ Installed new barge boards and fascia
✅ Installed ogee cast iron guttering to one side of the roof, and plastic guttering to the other side.
✅ Installed new valley lead
✅ Slated the roof using 20x12 Ffestiniog slates
✅ Installed a dry ridge system
✅ Created and installed a ridge cap, with a Tudor rose casted on site.

We have spent the last 12 weeks bringing new life to the roofs and leadwork on this beautiful old school down in Fairford. We’re extremely grateful to AGA Heritage Conservation Ltd for trusting us to carry out this work.

Altogether we:
✅ Stripped, felt and battened, and slated 19 sides, using over 8,000 natural slates and clips.
✅ Cut new roofs onto two up-and-overs
✅ Stripped out over 2 tonne of lead
✅ Created and installed 35 bespoke lead bays
✅ Created and installed 63 lead ridges
✅ Installed an EDPM gutter
✅ Replaced rotten fascia

I want to give a huge thank you to my team. They really pulled through during this job with the long hours during the intense heat.
Over the course of these 12 weeks they managed to hone their skills individually and as a team.

Lucy has been given many solo projects to create bespoke pieces of lead for the more intricate details.

By the end of the job Connor was top slater, completing nearly 80% of the slating.

A small strip and reroof completed last week for a great customer

Altogether we:
✅ Installed new timbers to the roof, to help support for the Velux windows
✅ Installed 2 Velux windows
✅ Created and installed new lead aprons, flashings and soakers to the chimney
✅ Slated the roof using reclaimed Welsh slates

A new shed roof using Spanish slates, to replace to original, felted roof.

Altogether we:
✅ Counter battened, battened and felted the roof
✅ Slated the roof using Spanish slates
✅ Created and installed new flashings, soakers and a ridge cap
✅ Created, installed and stained bespoke barge boards and fascia’s

After we repointed the fire surround earlier on in the year, this customer decided to get the entire wall repointed.
Both us and the customer are very pleased with the outcome

These lovely customers requested a slate roof, however their previous roof had too low of a pitch to accommodate slates. To meet their wishes, we cut in a new roof to raise the pitch, and used the Permavent Easyslate system

Altogether we:
✅ Stripped off the previous roof and flashings
✅ Cut in a new roof
✅ Installed Permanent felt, with Butyl tape applied under the laps of felt
✅ Counter battened and battened, with Butyl tape applied to the counter battens before nailing
✅ Slated the roof using fibre cement slates, ensuring Permavent strips were installed in between each slate, and Permavent soakers were installed at the sides
✅ Created and installed lead flashings and cover flashings
