Today’s postcard is of the Strand beach around 1910. The beach is quite busy with several people paddling in the River Medway.

Presumably the water was cleaner then as today no one would dream of swimming in this part of the river.

It was still a popular spot in the 1960s with many local families visiting during their summer holidays.

Can anyone remember the paddling pool, boating lake and swing boats?
