Alltask has delivered a series of access and scaffolding solutions at the Leigh Valley Barrier in Tonbridge, supporting ongoing inspection, maintenance and upgrade works to this key flood defence asset.

Works have included the installation of multiple suspended scaffolds to provide safe access for the replacement of existing steel stop-logs, scaffold structures to enable the removal of the old flood gates and installation of the new ones, as well as a temporary suspended scaffold to facilitate the installation of pipework associated with a stilling well and eel pass.

Operating within a live waterway environment required careful planning and coordination, with particular emphasis placed on environmental controls to minimise impact on the surrounding area. All temporary works were designed to suit the constraints of the structure while ensuring safe and efficient access for follow-on trades.

Working for our valued client VolkerStevin Ltd, these works form part of a wider programme of support Alltask has provided at Leigh Valley over the past two years, contributing to the ongoing maintenance and long-term performance of this critical flood defence infrastructure, originally constructed in the 1960s.

Works are underway at Pelham Substation to support the installation of two new quad booster units as part of wider network upgrades. Ahead of the main equipment delivery and substation expansion, a programme of enabling works is being carried out on site.

Alltask has been appointed to deliver the associated scaffolding works, providing safe access and working platforms to support early substation modifications and preparatory activities. The scaffolding has been designed and erected around live electrical infrastructure, with careful consideration given to segregation, clearances and site constraints.

The scaffold structure supports enabling activities including local alterations within the substation compound and preparatory works linked to the reconfiguration of existing overhead lines and tower arrangements. These changes will help streamline the layout around the site and improve access ahead of the main delivery phase.

The works also accommodate temporary access and coordination with other site activities, ensuring continued operation of the substation while preparations for the quad booster installation progress. Further work will be undertaken as the programme develops, with timings communicated once confirmed.

Alltask is pleased to be supporting DBR Limited on the conservation of the historic Minka House at Kew Gardens - a 20th‑century Japanese farmhouse located within the Bamboo Garden.

Our team has delivered a bespoke scaffolding and temporary works solution to support sensitive timber conservation and the renewal of the traditional thatched roof. Due to the lightweight construction of the building, incorporating bamboo elements with minimal structural capacity, the scaffold was designed to carry permanent load entirely independent of the historic structure.

The works include an internal birdcage scaffold carefully arranged around the timber frame, a full perimeter external scaffold, and a temporary roof structure providing weather protection throughout the programme - all installed using non‑intrusive methods to safeguard the original fabric and surrounding landscape.

A specialist heritage project requiring close collaboration and careful planning.

We have recently completed a bespoke scaffolding solution at Waterlily House, one of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew’s most iconic Grade II listed structures.

Working alongside DBR Limited, our team designed and installed a fully independent scaffold system to provide safe access for the restoration of this historic glasshouse, while carefully protecting its fragile structure and surroundings. The project forms part of a major refurbishment programme, transforming Waterlily House into one of the world’s first net zero heritage glasshouses.

Alltask is proud to be supporting Kier Construction on the redevelopment of Bush House, a Grade II listed landmark originally constructed between 1925 and 1935 and once home to the BBC World Service.

Our team is delivering complex scaffolding and access solutions, including a full-height, fully wrapped scaffold to all elevations. The installation provides safe access for façade restoration, Portland stone cleaning, full window replacement, and roof‑level mechanical upgrades.

Working in a busy central London environment, the scaffold incorporates access lifts, loading bays, public protection measures, and temporary roof structures, enabling sensitive refurbishment works while safeguarding the historic fabric of the building.

Alltask is pleased to be supporting the refurbishment of the roof and glass canopy at Fulham Broadway Station by providing specialist beamed access scaffolding. The works form part of a wider upgrade to the existing canopy and roof structure, enhancing safety, durability, and increasing the amount of natural light reaching the platforms.

Delivering complex access solutions within a live transport environment requires careful planning and close collaboration. The station needs to remain fully operational throughout the works, with zero disruption to passengers and services.

The Cavalry and Guards Club, a prestigious Grade II* listed building located in the heart of London, required sensitive and expertly managed access solutions to facilitate internal conservation works. Alltask was appointed by DBR to design and deliver a bespoke scaffolding solution that provided full access to the internal dome lantern from both above and below, while maintaining the building’s historic integrity and operational needs.

Full Internal Birdcage Scaffold: Designed to span across the grand stairwell and rise to ceiling level, this birdcage scaffold enabled safe internal access for conservation and repair works to the internal finishes and plasterwork.

Temporary Roof Structure (External): Constructed above the ornate domed lantern, this temporary roof prevented water ingress during the restoration phase. The roof platform enabled secure external access and protection to the delicate lantern structure.

Hanging Access Scaffold: Suspended working platforms were installed internally below the lantern to provide a safe working area for detailed repair works and inspections.
