Alltask has delivered a series of access and scaffolding solutions at the Leigh Valley Barrier in Tonbridge, supporting ongoing inspection, maintenance and upgrade works to this key flood defence asset.
Works have included the installation of multiple suspended scaffolds to provide safe access for the replacement of existing steel stop-logs, scaffold structures to enable the removal of the old flood gates and installation of the new ones, as well as a temporary suspended scaffold to facilitate the installation of pipework associated with a stilling well and eel pass.
Operating within a live waterway environment required careful planning and coordination, with particular emphasis placed on environmental controls to minimise impact on the surrounding area. All temporary works were designed to suit the constraints of the structure while ensuring safe and efficient access for follow-on trades.
Working for our valued client VolkerStevin Ltd, these works form part of a wider programme of support Alltask has provided at Leigh Valley over the past two years, contributing to the ongoing maintenance and long-term performance of this critical flood defence infrastructure, originally constructed in the 1960s.
