Don't let your drains get like this
Follow the top tips below
Pouring fat, oil, and grease (FOG) down the drain is a BIG NO!!!. Liquid grease quickly cools and solidifies in cold pipes, combining with other debris to form stubborn clogs and massive sewer blockages known as "fatbergs," which can cause raw sewage to back up into homes or spill into the environment.
To protect your plumbing and the local environment, follow this simple routine:
Cool It: Let hot, oil or grease cool
Before washing thes scraps the residue of the pan and then wipe over with a tissue
Bin It: Once cold pour into a secure, sealable container and dispose of it with your regular household rubbish.
Trap It: Place a mesh sink strainer over your plug hole to catch any stray food scraps, and empty the trapped food into your food waste bin rather than rinsing it down the sink.
Skip the Soap: Never pour boiling hot water and washing-up liquid down the drain to "chase away" grease. It will only push the liquid fat further down your plumbing system before it eventually cools and hardens.
