Yes. Yes, there is.

Damaged sockets are not something to ignore, especially when parts are missing, cracked, loose, burnt, or exposing areas that should never be accessible. What might look like a small fault can quickly become a much bigger safety issue.

If a socket is damaged, stop using it and get it checked by a qualified electrician. Do not wait until it fails completely, starts overheating, or becomes dangerous.

This is exactly the sort of thing we pick up on inspections, maintenance visits and EICRs, and it is always better to deal with it early.

Electrical safety matters. If something does not look right, it probably is not right.

Consumer unit replacement completed.

The original board had definitely done its time, complete with a power loss helpline sticker from the MEB days. A good reminder that electrical installations do not last forever, and what was acceptable decades ago may not meet the needs or safety expectations of a modern property.

This has now been upgraded with a new FuseBox consumer unit, helping to provide improved protection, a neater installation and better peace of mind for the customer.

If your consumer unit is looking dated, damaged, overloaded, or you are unsure when it was last checked, it may be time to have it inspected by a qualified electrician.
