We recently completed this stunning glass-roofed sunroom extension for a historic home in Hatton, Warwickshire.
This was a full design and build project, delivered in collaboration with local architects Laurie Day Design Group. Working on period properties always comes with unique challenges, so having the right team and experience is essential to ensure the character and heritage of the building are respected throughout the process.
The existing lean-to conservatory had reached the end of its life and was no longer meeting the client's needs. The client wanted as large an expanse of glass on the roof as possible while remaining sympathetic to the property's historic character and meeting planning requirements.
To achieve this balance, we combined large glass roof panels with standing seam aluminium roof panels, creating a beautiful, practical solution that sits comfortably within its surroundings. Matching aluminium guttering and four-panel sliding bifold doors completed the exterior, seamlessly connecting the home and garden.
Inside, the original brickwork was preserved, allowing the history of the property to become a feature of the new space. Oak architraves and skirting add warmth and character, while stone-finished Karndean flooring provided a timeless finish that's both stylish and durable.
A huge thank you to Laurie Day Design Group for collaborating with us on this project. If you're looking for architectural expertise on your next renovation or extension project, be sure to get in touch with Laurie.
