DMP Supporting Exciting Leisure Development in Eastbourne

DMP is pleased to be supporting the redevelopment of a commercial unit in Eastbourne, East Sussex, which is being transformed to accommodate an exciting new leisure use.

Our team has completed a comprehensive measured building survey, producing accurate as-existing floor plans, elevations and sections to provide a reliable foundation for the developing design.

Summer Works Underway at More Park Catholic Primary School

Great progress is being made at More Park Catholic Primary School, where DMP is providing Architectural and Contract Administration services for a programme of summer refurbishment works.

Improvements include new flooring, decorations, radiators and WC cubicles, alongside alterations to improve teaching spaces.

A new infill extension will provide a much-needed nursery reading area, while internal alterations will create a baby-changing space and improve the layout of the Year 6 classroom.

Following our first weekly site visit, classrooms have been stripped out and excavation is underway for the new floor slab and foundations.

An existing drainage run was uncovered during excavation, requiring DMP to quickly provide an updated lintel detail to help keep the works moving and on programme for the new school term.

Delivering Another Successful Education Sector Project: Kent College Roof Replacement Update

We're pleased to share the latest progress on our Art Block roof replacement project at Kent College, Canterbury, where DMP is providing Principal Designer and Contract Administration services.

Over the past two weeks, the project has progressed at pace. The existing asbestos cement slate roof and associated asbestos-containing materials have now been safely removed, with the new breathable roofing membrane and timber battens currently being installed in preparation for the new high-performance roof covering.

A key feature of the refurbishment is the installation of solar-powered Velux rooflights with remote-controlled blinds, giving teaching staff greater control over natural light while improving comfort within the classrooms. The rooflights will also incorporate laminated safety glazing, providing additional impact resistance due to the building's proximity to the sports courts.

The replacement roofing system will provide a more durable, weather-resistant solution, extending the life of the building while creating a safer environment for students and staff.

A huge thank you to Abbott Construction, the specialist subcontractors and the Kent College team for their continued collaboration. Through careful planning, regular communication and proactive project management, the works remain on programme for completion ahead of the new academic year.

Contract Award Confirmed – West Heath School, Sevenoaks

We are delighted to announce that the construction contract has now been awarded for the exciting expansion of West Heath School in Sevenoaks.

Following planning approval, Jenner Contractors Limited has been appointed as Main Contractor, with works due to commence in August 2026 and a 49-week construction programme.

Main Contract Awarded for Watstock Barn Conversion Development

We're delighted to announce that the main construction contract has now been awarded for the conversion of three traditional agricultural barns near Chiddingstone, Kent.

Following a competitive tender process, Coleman & James Services Ltd has been appointed as Main Contractor, with construction due to commence in mid-July 2026.

The project will transform redundant agricultural barns into three high-quality residential homes while carefully preserving their historic character and enhancing the surrounding rural landscape. Alongside the barn conversions, the scheme includes extensive infrastructure works, landscaping, ecological enhancements and improvements to Public Rights of Way.

Construction Set to Begin on Our West Malling Residential Development

We're pleased to announce that the contract for our West Malling redevelopment project has been awarded to Jenner Contractors Limited, marking an exciting milestone as the project moves into the construction phase.

Works are scheduled to commence in mid-July, with a construction programme of approximately 55 weeks.

Project Update – Clarendon Way, Tunbridge Wells

DMP is pleased to be acting as Contract Administrator and Project Administrator for a residential ground floor extension project in Tunbridge Wells.

The scheme will provide a larger open-plan kitchen and dining area, together with a new study and shower room, creating additional living space and improving the functionality of the home.

Our role includes administering the JCT contract, undertaking regular site inspections, certifying contractor payments, and coordinating with the architect, structural engineer, building control, and contractor to help ensure the project is delivered to a high standard.

Despite encountering unforeseen ground conditions requiring deeper foundations and drainage alterations, the project continues to progress well. DMP promptly reviewed and certified the additional works while advising the client on the impact to costs and the payment schedule.

Just over a month into construction, key milestones achieved include:

✅ Groundworks completed
✅ New soakaway and drainage runs installed
✅ Foundations constructed
✅ Brick and blockwork completed to DPC level
✅ Beam-and-block floor installation underway
