SCAFFOLDING
TITLE:Supervisor (Scaffolding)
FUNCTION:
Responsible for the overall supervision of scaffolding personnel to achieve contracted arrangements for the er****on and disassembly of scaffold and access structures in line with TG:20, system scaffolds and formal Design Guidelines. Follow Company management system arrangements for health, safety, quality and environmental issues generally, and as included within each project plan.

SUPERVISES:
All scaffolding personnel assigned to the project involved in the logistics, loading, unloading, er****on and dismantle and return of scaffold components and structures.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform supervisory activities in accordance with the guidance specified in the relative project documents e.g. Inspection); Method Statement; drawings; appropriate industry standards (NASC Guidance); reporting formats etc.
• Ensure Scaffold Team squad make-up consists of appropriately qualified personnel i.e. mix with ratio of advance scaffolders to basic and for structures involved.
• Ensure that scaffold materials are stored and handled in accordance with manufacturer’s requirements and component type traceability is maintained and used.
• Carry out a pre-work survey of the work area to confirm Client instructions; area restrictions; access and egress arrangements; materials quantity and plant requirements.
• Supervise scaffolding personnel to ensure “Operatives” are carrying out their works to support the contracted scaffolding requirements, including support personnel.
• Ensure completed scaffold structures conform to project specifications.
• Ensure Client “Acceptance and Handover” of scaffold structure is carried out.
• Monitor scaffold inspection feedback and recommend improvements.
• Ensure authorisation tags are installed or removed to reflect scaffold status.
• Prepare daily reports on agreed format(s) for the status of work and progress.
• Take part in supporting internal or third-party audits of the Company’s quality control system.
• Arrange for timely inspection of the scaffold structure on completion of each works stage or phase and resolve any non-compliance issues.
• Liaise with Client Representative(s) for the progression of the works and reporting output.
• Encourage best practice in all involved work disciplines and particularly with regard to health and safety and environmental issues.
• Carry out “Start of Shift” briefings with the workforce; including communication of all COSHH and Risk Assessment information relating to the planned workscope(s) where appliciable.
• Attend “Planning and Progress” meetings with the operations team to discuss health and safety, manpower resources, equipment, material and any other issues.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
Reports directly to the Senior supervisor on a daily basis and works closely with and oversees to ensure all project issues meet planned arrangements and Client / Industry specifications.
PROFILE:
The Supervisor (Scaffolding) shall have a background in scaffolding and relevant industry certification to SMSTS, SSSTS; CISRS as applicable and have gained previous service industry experience in supervision, part of which shall be related to Scaffolding works associated with multi-project activity.
