⚡️ AJS Electrical Update ⚡️

A general update for customers past, present and future.

For the past month or so, I have been working 7 days a week clocking up over 80 hour weeks to attempt to catchup with the backlog from the start of the UK lockdown due to the pandemic.

I have to apologise as this takes a toll on our business paperwork, I can only apologise for recent quotations not being as quick as they used to, or should be. This also effects our invoicing, and certificates. we understand how frustrating it can be waiting for a quote, invoice, and/or certificates. I’m trying my upmost to get the paperwork done albeit, it is slower than normal.

We hope to be back to ‘normal’ in the next couple of weeks, so please bear with us during this very strange, but extremely busy time.

Stay safe,
Kindest regards,
Alex.

** Covid-19 Update: **

AJS Electrical continues to give you the service that you demand. We are currently only carrying out essential works, or works we can carry out ALONE whilst in your property(s). We still insist on hand washing facilities at your premises, and the government guidelines shall be obeyed on all premises.

We are still available for emergencies, and our emergencies will take priority over any other job we have booked in. We will let you know, in the rare circumstances, should your job be moved, we will move it to another date at yours, and our earliest convenience.

Our van, and lockup carries a large stock of essential items, but with our varied wholesalers closing daily, we are very limited to the very essential emergency items we can supply. All items are supplied with a 48 hour max wait time at current. This is the same for all of our suppliers, other electrical firms and other electrical businesses will have the same lead time as ourselves.

Stay safe, Stay indoors, and please. Protect our NHS.

We will do our best to help you.

Kindest regards,
Alex @ AJS Electrical.

Following mixed information from the government AJS Electrical is taking the following steps;

- With regret, all non essential work has been cancelled, we will give you priority slots once the lockdown comes to an end (expected in the next 2/3 weeks).

* Absolute essential work will still be carried out, providing we have full access to hand washing facilities, and the social distancing measures are respected.

* Breakdowns/Emergencies.
- We will be available for essential Breakdowns and Emergencies, providing we have full access to hand wash facilities, and the social distancing measures are respected.

* Examples for essential breakdowns and emergencies:
- No electricity.
- Faults causing no electricity.
- Boiler and/or heating issues.
- Replacement of essential appliances, primarily, Ovens and Hobs. Note; Appliances must be supplied.

* Lastly; Schools, Pharmacy’s, Post offices, GP surgeries, and Hospices take priority over any other emergency.

Whilst we appreciate that some landscape gardeners know what they’re doing, this one today, doesn’t. Called in today to fix constant tripping of an RCD - this garden was finished in the run up to Christmas, so has lasted around 4 months in this condition, bricks blown to bits caused by drilling, untidy clipped wires, outdoor connections not in the correct IP rated boxes, thus letting water into the connections (the main problem) a ‘leaning tower of bollard’, an extension lead DIY’d to suit, and general condition of the terminated wiring leaves a lot to be desired (no sleevings, and wiring in the front plates fell apart when unscrewing. Not only is the above unsafe and generally not fit for purpose, the outdoor connections were 100% going to let water in and cause problems, any competent person who has a little electrical knowledge would of known this.

Client sacked said landscape gardener and has another coming to rectify a long list of issues that have been found, at extra cost to the client.

A unique shed/bar install we’ve been working on, still plenty of little bits and pieces to do to finish it off, but this has been a lot of fun. Keep an eye out for this shed next year as the client is entering the ‘Shed of the year’ competition.
