Lemlec Electrical & Mechanical Contractors are seeking a reliable and skilled Gas Engineer to join our team based in the Isle of Wight . You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary with benefits.

We have steadily grown our gas and plumbing department over the last 2 years and have expanded and established ourselves as open, honest, and approachable. We are seeking a conscientious, compliant, and experienced Gas Safe Plumber with a can-do attitude and flexible approach to complement our growing team.
We are offering the following;
An annual salary between £31,000 - £35,000 depending on experience with the opportunity to supplement salary with overtime & call-outs.

The nature of the Gas Engineer role means that you will be working mainly in people’s homes and must therefore be able to maintain a professional appearance and attitude, whilst being polite and courteous at all times. Some tenants will be elderly and/or vulnerable which means that you must have well-developed interpersonal skills and be able to empathise with tenants that you interact with before, during, and after undertaking your work.
Your purpose is to carry out the right work at the right time; which means a quality job completed efficiently in a safe, clean, and tidy way.
Key responsibilities of the Gas Engineer include: -
The annual inspection and testing of boilers and the subsequent issue of Landlord Gas Safety Certificates (CP12)
Fault-finding, servicing, and repairs to boilers and other gas appliances
Inspecting and certifying other gas appliances such as cookers
Installing new boilers and other gas appliances
Associated plumbing work as required
Being willing to work out of hours to the requirements of the client and participate in the call out rota, when required.
Fully diagnosing a job before starting work; identifying the materials you need and other trades that may be required for full completion
Ensuring the customer is kept fully up to date with all aspects of the work and that they understand any disruption to their day-to-day living that may arise from your work
The required skills and qualifications for the Gas Engineer role: -
NVQ Level 3 in Domestic Plumbing & Heating (or equivalent)
CCN1 - Core Gas Safety
CENWAT1 - Central Heating Boilers & Water Heaters
MET1 - Meters - (optional)
CKR1 - Domestic Cookers
HTR1 - Gas Fires & Wall Heaters
