Another upgrade delivered at Herts Baseball Club.
We’ve now completed repairs and reinforcement works to the backstop fencing at Hemel, adding strength and extending its lifespan as part of the club’s long‑term improvement plan.

Earlier this year we carried out pre‑season renovations on both of the diamonds, working within the club’s available budget to significantly improve surface quality, ball roll and reduce unpredictable deviations in the areas of play. The difference from previous seasons is already clear.

Our relationship with Herts Baseball continues to grow, and with several of their players now selected for Great Britain, we’re committed to keeping the facility moving forward year after year.

Another busy day supporting St Albans City Youth FC getting their pitches ready for the this years tournament. Tried our hand at logos with our Turf Tank too… let’s just say we learnt quickly that bigger is better.

This work is part of our ongoing contribution and sponsorship to help the club deliver a top‑class tournament for the community.

Get yourself down there, Tea bar, BBQ, great football, and a huge community atmosphere.

Fingers crossed the weather holds out.

Initial End of Season Renovations Complete at St Albans City Football Club

A big step forward for the pitch this week as we completed the first phase of end‑of‑season renovations at Clarence Park.

We started with a deep scarification, removing built‑up thatch and dead vegetation to open the surface and help new growth establish properly. This was followed by direct drilling Sherriff Sports perennial ryegrass using our Vredo seeder — getting the seed straight into the soil profile for faster, stronger germination compared to broadcast or dimple seeding.

To finish, we applied 100 tonnes of topdressing, helping the new seed establish, improving surface levels, and supporting recovery after a long season of heavy play.

Now for rain..............

Great to continue supporting the club and helping prepare the pitch for the season ahead.

The season may be over, but for us the hard work is just getting started.
End‑of‑season renovations are well underway, including at St Albans City Football Club, where we’re proud to be entering our 5th year supporting the club.

The pitch has come on massively each season, and with promotion the target next year, we’re pushing standards even higher!
Following the renovations we’re on hand throughout the campaign to support the on‑site grounds team every step of the way.

Plenty more to come, watch this space for pitch updates from us and the club throughout the renovation period.

Proud to be supporting Oaklands College with a static display at Lambing Weekend again this year.

We are showcasing some of the machines we now use to maintain and enhance the sports pitches at the college. In just our first year fully maintaining the sports fields, there has already been a noticeable improvement in the quality of the pitches and, through collaboration with several departments across the college, things are only continuing to improve.

With minimal rainfall over the past month, irrigation is key.

These new Irtec systems are running regularly to ensure consistent moisture levels are maintained across the pitches.

From a technical perspective, a well planned irrigation schedule is vital for maintaining soil moisture within the optimal range for root function. Without it, you see reduced nutrient uptake, increased soil compaction, and accelerated turf stress, leading to thinning swards and reduced surface performance. Consistent watering also helps maintain even grass coverage, improves recovery from wear, and keeps the playing surface safe and true.

Sand banding complete!

We recently carried out sand banding in Hertfordshire using our Redexim Vibra Sand Master.
Creating narrow channels filled with sand within the upper soil profile, helping water move away from the surface more efficiently, reducing waterlogging, increasing oxygen flow to the roots, and promoting firmer, more consistent ground conditions.
