Gas Pipe Installation – Commercial Kitchen Upgrade 🔧🔥

Taylor Plumbing & Heating recently completed gas pipework alterations for a local fish & chip shop undergoing a full refurbishment.

With a new commercial range cooker and combination boiler being installed, the existing gas supply required upgrading to safely meet the increased demand.

Our works included:
• Installation of new surface-mounted copper gas pipework
• Correct positioning of isolation valves and safety controls
• Pipe sizing and volume calculations to suit the load requirements of the range and combi boiler
• Secure fixing and routing to current regulations
• Fast turnaround to avoid delays to the overall refurbishment programme

Project Spotlight | Commercial Flue Upgrade

Upgrade and extension of a commercial printing dryer flue system to improve exhaust termination height and resolve issues with fumes discharging into the adjacent car park.

The existing flue termination was positioned too low, causing concerns for the landlord and neighbouring users of the building. We sourced and installed a new flue section to safely extend the discharge point to a higher level.

Scope of works included:
• Assessment of the existing dryer flue system
• Supply of new flue components
• Extension of flue to achieve a higher termination point
• Installation of external flue sections to the building façade
• Securing with wall brackets for stability and safety
• Installation completed in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions

The upgrade ensures improved exhaust dispersal, compliance with installation guidance, and a safer environment for the surrounding area.

Removal and replacement of failing iron heating pipework as part of a reliability and longevity upgrade to an existing one-pipe heating system.

The property operates on a traditional one-pipe system, requiring a like-for-like replacement to avoid flow restrictions or unintended system implications. Careful planning and ex*****on ensured the upgraded installation maintained original system performance while significantly improving durability.

Scope of works included:
• Removal of existing leaking iron pipework
• Installation of new 35mm copper pipework throughout
• M-Press fittings used for consistent, secure connections
• Like-for-like replacement of one-pipe system layout
• Coordination with flooring repairs
• Installation of a 2x2 timber bump strip to protect exposed pipework
