One of our Junior Surveyors, Matthew, has been busy on site at this absolutely stunning spot above Sennen Cove! Carrying out a to support a clients design project.

Target Geo have supported Matthew by offering an industry placement throughout his T Level course at Truro and Penwith College, after showing a keen interest in Land Surveying as a career, Matthew is now employed full time and we look forward to supporting him on his career path moving forwards. Matthew is also looking forward to working towards technical CICES status.

For any young person looking to get into surveying, we would always recommend the T Level course.

Today one our team were tasked with capturing a point cloud model for a large boulder at a local quarry.
What’s the point you ask?… Well, by capturing an accurate 3D point cloud of the rock, we can calculate the exact weight and dimensions, which is crucial for project planning. With a rock estimated to weigh over 100 tonnes, the planning and logistics need to be 💯 Especially when it’s due to embark on a journey from Cornwall to London!

This week, our Utility Survey team are on site with the mighty Stream DP multi-channel GPR.

Tasked with covering large areas of agricultural land and multiple road network's, the Stream DP coupled with a GS18t makes subsurface data capture a breeze!

All data will be post processed using IQ Maps and we will then produce a comprehensive, highly accurate PAS128 (Type B) compliant Utility Survey drawing for our client. A vital piece of information to inform their project moving forwards.

Our new Ford Ranger also makes light work of towing the DP across the fields 💪
