A few weeks ago our Associate Architect, Kate Wotton, had the pleasure of visiting Oldway Primary School as part of the Build Torbay Paignton Picture House Challenge.
The enthusiasm and curiosity from the pupils were truly inspiring. Through engaging discussions about architecture, construction, sustainability, adaptive reuse and the importance of creating flexible, multi-purpose spaces, the children demonstrated a genuine interest in shaping the future of the built environment.
Initiatives like this highlight the value of connecting industry professionals with young people, helping to raise aspirations, broaden understanding of career opportunities and encourage the next generation of designers, builders and problem-solvers.
As a practice, we are proud to support social value initiatives across Torbay that invest in local communities and inspire future talent. A special thank you to Lucy Lewis for masterminding and delivering such a fantastic programme.
If the passion, creativity and thoughtful questions shared during the session are anything to go by, the future of our built environment is in very capable hands.
