🌳 Another one down! 🌳

This sycamore tree had become a bit of a concern due to its location, sitting close to both the house and an overhead power cable. With the strong winds we get, and the tree only set to get bigger, the decision was made to remove it before it became a bigger problem.

This was a fun job for us, not least because it was Taylor’s turn to be up the tree! 😄

Taylor has recently started her climbing journey and is grabbing every chance she can to get some practice in before heading off for her climbing course and assessment next month. Every tree is a learning opportunity, and it’s great to see her confidence growing with each climb. 💪🌿

The tree was carefully dismantled and lowered in sections to keep everything safe and controlled around the house and power line.

(And yes, Taylor was pretty pleased to finally swap the rake for a harness! 😂)

🌪️ Another Storm Damage Job Completed 🌪️

These trees didn’t stand a chance against the weather and unfortunately ended up sprawled across the roof of this summer house.

Our team was called in to carefully dismantle and remove the fallen trees without causing any additional damage to the building. Working piece by piece, we safely lifted the weight from the roof and cleared the site, leaving the structure accessible and free from further risk.

Jobs like this are a reminder of just how much damage storm-damaged trees can cause, especially when they’re close to buildings.

Another big tree safely dismantled and removed by the team! 🌳💪

The photos really don’t do this tree justice – it was much larger than it appears and made for an impressive job.

Due to the surrounding area, this was a tricky dismantle that required careful planning and a methodical approach. The tree was taken down in sections and cut into manageable sizes before being safely brought to the ground. Despite the challenges, the team worked brilliantly throughout!

As always, we take pride not only in the tree work itself but also in leaving the site clean and tidy once the job is complete.

A great effort from everyone involved and another happy customer at the end of the day.

Another successful tree removal completed by the team at CGS Tree Services! 🌳💪

We recently tackled a large ash tree in Ballygown, Isle of Mull. Due to its location close to the house and beside a burn, the tree had to be carefully climbed and dismantled in sections to ensure the work was carried out safely and efficiently.

As the work progressed, it became clear that the tree was significantly rotten through the centre. Interestingly, hidden within the decayed section of the stem, we discovered an old beehive that had once been home to a colony of bees. It’s always fascinating to uncover a little piece of nature’s history while carrying out our work. 🐝

Once the crown had been removed, the remaining stem was felled as a pole. All timber was cut into manageable rounds, and as always, we took pride in leaving the site clean, tidy, and ready for the customer to enjoy.

A big Sitka spruce taken down in Lochdon over the last couple of days 🌲

The team had a lovely day for the dismantle yesterday with some great weather on our side. Today’s rain definitely made things a bit more challenging, but it didn’t stop us getting the clear up finished properly!

As always, we pride ourselves on leaving every site as tidy as possible, so we always take the extra time needed for the final clean up. A good job isn’t finished until the site is left spotless 👌

🌳 Ash tree reduction in Tobermory 🌳

A nice bit of climbing this week reducing a mature ash tree sitting on a steep banking above a burn. The tree had become tall and heavy, so we carefully brought it back to make it safer while keeping its natural shape and giving it a good chance for healthy regrowth.

All work done by rope and harness with controlled lowering to protect the garden below, tricky access but a really satisfying job to complete!

Always good to be working in such a beautiful corner of Tobermory. If you’ve got a tree you’re unsure about, we’re always happy to come have a look and offer advice.

🌳 Recent Job at Torloisk Estate 🌳

We were called out to Torloisk Estate to deal with a windblown tree that had failed onto a wall and was hanging over the dog kennels and an oil tank.

Due to the risks and the position of the tree, we brought in DoDo and his cherry picker to allow us to dismantle it safely and in a controlled manner. This ensured the tree was removed without causing any further damage to the wall, kennels, or oil tank.

A great example of using the right equipment and planning to keep people, property, and animals safe.

🎄 That’s *nearly* a wrap on another year at CGS Tree Services 🎄

As we come to the end of the year, we just want to say a huge thank you to all of our customers, friends and supporters. The support we’ve had over the past year has been amazing, and we genuinely couldn’t do what we do without you.
