🚨 EMERGENCY RESPONSE | QUAYSIDE SHOPPING MALL, MEDIA CITY

Another example of where Griffin Installations had to think quickly, work safely and deliver a bespoke solution.

We received an emergency call to attend a smashed shopfront window at Quayside Shopping Mall, Media City, Salford, creating an immediate safety concern in a busy public environment.

Our priority was simple — make the area safe, isolate the danger and create a secure working environment for the glazing team.

Working within a live shopping mall meant we also had to carefully consider shoppers, existing finishes and the expensive tiled flooring.

Rather than fixing into the building, we designed and constructed a completely freestanding temporary enclosure, using:

🔨 3x2 timber framework
🔨 9mm plywood
🔨 MDF/plywood panels
🔨 Bespoke bracing and feet
🔨 Sandbags for additional stability
🔨 A secure access door with lock

The result was effectively a temporary room built around the damaged shopfront, which will allow the glazing contractors to safely remove the damaged glass.

The challenge was also creating a safe route through the mall while the work was taking place — keeping shoppers separated from the work area and maintaining a professional appearance throughout.

And importantly, the structure was designed so that nothing needed to be fixed into the mall’s floors or surrounding walls, protecting the existing finishes while still providing a robust and secure enclosure.

From an emergency call-out to a fully constructed, secure working environment — quick response, practical thinking and bespoke construction when it’s needed.

That’s what we mean when we say:

Monton Hallway Transformation – Fluent in Bespoke 🎨

Following on from our recent bathroom refurbishment in Monton, the Griffin Installations team were asked to give the hallway a completely new look.

The customer wanted a classic panelled-wall effect but didn’t want to lose the existing skirting boards.

So rather than simply boarding the walls and covering everything up, we came up with a bespoke solution.

We cut 3-inch MDF strips and carefully set them out directly onto the existing plastered walls, creating a series of individual panels and a clean horizontal top rail detail.

The challenge was working around the existing skirting, door frames, sockets and other features — making the panel layout work with the room rather than against it.

Once the preparation and detailing were complete, the whole hallway was finished in Opulent Olive, giving the space a warm, sophisticated finish and making the new panelling really stand out.

Another example of why we say:

Fluent in Bespoke.

It’s not always about ripping everything out and starting again.

Sometimes it’s about looking at what’s already there, understanding what the customer wants, and finding a clever way to make it work.

A complete transformation in Monton!

This bathroom started as a full strip-out, uncovering hidden plumbing, electrical and structural issues before being rebuilt from the ground up.

Working closely with our client throughout the design process, we helped bring their ideas to life with green feature tiles, wood-effect porcelain, brushed bronze fittings and a bespoke walk-in shower.

Every bathroom should reflect the people who use it—and this one certainly does.

Swipe through to see the transformation! 👌

From Vision to Reality – A Truly Bespoke Bathroom

📍Monton, Salford | Residential Bathroom Refurbishment

Every client has a vision. Our job is to turn that vision into a practical, beautifully finished space that they’ll enjoy for years to come.

We’ve been working alongside this client throughout the year, helping develop their ideas into a bathroom that is completely unique to them. Rather than choosing an off-the-shelf design, they wanted something with real personality—and together we made it happen.

As with every Griffin Installations refurbishment, the first step was taking everything back to the structure. Once the old bathroom was removed we uncovered several hidden issues within the plumbing, electrics and structure. These were all rectified before any new installation began, ensuring the new bathroom was built on a safe, solid foundation.

Working closely with the client, we advised on layout, product selection, positioning and practicality to make sure every element worked together perfectly.

The finished result combines:

✔️ Full-height ceramic tiling
✔️ Wood-effect porcelain flooring and feature wall tiles
✔️ Brushed bronze taps, trims, fittings and concealed shower control
✔️ Bespoke walk-in shower
✔️ Basin mounted on custom timber vanity with concealed tap.
✔️ Modern white sanitaryware
✔️ Electric towel rail

Being an occupied apartment, keeping disruption to a minimum was just as important as the workmanship itself. Floor protection was installed throughout the apartment and communal areas, with cleanliness maintained at the end of every working day.

The result is a bathroom that’s completely individual, perfectly suited to the owners, and another example of how Griffin Installations brings bespoke ideas to life.

If you’re planning your own renovation and want more than a standard bathroom installation, we’d be delighted to help.

Big thanks to our employees:
George love precise plumbing first and second fix.
John Griffin construction work and tiling, accurate and great finish.
💪👌

No job is outside our remit.

This 30-foot feature column at Building 10, Princess Parade, Liverpool Waters had been badly water stained following repairs to the glazed roof above.

The decorating itself wasn’t the biggest challenge… getting to it was.

Positioned between two lift shafts, inside a live reception with glass partitions and constant tenant access, the project required detailed planning, bespoke scaffold design and strict Health & Safety procedures before work could even begin.

The result? A fully restored feature column with minimal disruption to the building and its occupants.

It’s projects like these that show what Griffin Installations is all about—finding solutions where others see obstacles.

Thinking outside the box. Delivering inside it.
