What a week it’s been for the EVOTEC crew! 🚗💨

Monday started with a lovely surprise when one of our engineers snapped a photo of camels while out on site! It instantly won "photo of the week" back at the office (no official trophy, but definitely maximum bragging rights!). 🐫📷
Here is a quick look at what the red vans have been up to across the local area this week:

For discreet security - we fitted 12 smart 4K HikVision cameras that match the building’s gorgeous exterior so smoothly you’d hardly spot them. We also set up a clever, simple-to-use alarm app system so the owner can check camera alerts and system status right from their phone with total ease.

For school safety - we added new access control security to gates and doors at a primary school to keep their new nursery building safe and secure.

When the clock is ticking, the EVOTEC crew doesn't give up! 🔴⚡

We recently took on a huge fire alarm upgrade at a beautiful country house over in Hampshire. The owners had a very strict deadline to keep their insurance in place, so failure simply wasn't an option.

It was a big job - fitting over 130 wireless smoke sensors right across the main building, roof voids, and lift shafts, plus all the sounders, call points, and live emergency signalling.

As with any big project, a few unexpected hiccups with signaling and equipment tried to slow us down. But shout out to our incredible engineers Greg and Andy, along with the rest of the install and testing team, who stayed on site and worked through the night to solve every single issue.

This photo was taken just before midnight, with two of our red vans still parked outside as the guys put the final touches on the system! 🌙🚐

A massive thank you to the team for their amazing problem-solving attitude and sheer perseverance. You stars! ⭐

There’s always plenty to celebrate behind the scenes at EVOTEC, but this month has been extra special! 🎉

We’ve had cake, milestones and an emotional goodbye at our Salisbury office:

👏 Happy work anniversaries!
Huge congratulations to Daniel, who marks 3 years as a Fire Alarm Installation Engineer after taking a leap and making a complete career change to join us! And to Lyndon, celebrating 2 years as a Security Installation Engineer, bringing his brilliant expertise to the crew every single day.

🎂 Double birthdays!
Happy Birthday wishes go out to Daniel (yes, double celebration for Dan!) and our lovely Business Administrator Sophie! 🎈

🎓 Good luck, Mila!
Yesterday we said a very fond farewell to Mila, who has spent the last year helping draw up our schematic CAD charts and as an admin assistant. It was a temporary role as she sets off for university this week - we’ll miss her around the office but wish her the best of luck with her studies!

🚀 South Wiltshire Business Festival 2026 is officially open for registration.

On Wednesday 30 September, City Hall Salisbury will become a meeting place for businesses, entrepreneurs, employers, students, jobseekers and people interested in enterprise from across South Wiltshire and beyond.

Ah, summer! It’s been a little while since we last checked in - not because we’ve been lounging on the beach all month (though a few of us have enjoyed a festival rave or a night under canvas! ;)), but because summer is our busiest time of year! 🎪⛺

Who likes easy anyway? 😉

It's always an exciting, fast-paced time as schools make the most of the quiet corridors to carry out essential security and fire safety upgrades, and we love helping them get ready for the new school year.

It takes a lot of juggling behind the scenes - balancing annual leave, school holidays, heatwaves and the occasional emergency breakdown! It means our social media posts have been a bit quiet lately while we focus on the hands-on work, from miles of fire alarm cables to upgrading access control systems, but we are working hard to catch up on all messages and emails as fast as we can.

Shout out to Andrius for tackling the high-ladder work on site this week! 🪜 It’s the dedication of the EVOTEC crew that makes these big summer projects a success. 👏

Do companies actually have birthdays? 🎂 Well, officially it’s our 9th anniversary since incorporation this weekend (19th July), and we think that’s a pretty good excuse for some cake!

From a small spark of an idea back in 2017 to the wonderful team we have today, it has been an absolute joy serving our local community in Salisbury and across Wiltshire. We are so proud of the hard work our team puts in every day, whether they’re installing new security tech or out and about in the red vans keeping your premises safe.

A huge thank you to all our lovely local clients for supporting us over the last nine years - we truly appreciate every single one of you. Keep an eye out for the red boxes on walls around town, and give our engineers a wave if you see them out on the road this and every week! 🎉

Zero bits of bad news from our latest audit! 🥳

We’ve had a busy but brilliant couple of days here at EVOTEC! The team has been undergoing a big two-day recertification audit with the National Security Inspectorate (NSI) to check up on our quality system and our fire and security standards.

The auditor didn't just sit in the office with us - also jumped in the car to shadow us on a couple of site visits, checking up on our portable fire extinguisher servicing to make sure everything is top-notch.

Our favourite moment from the entire week? The auditor wrapping up the visit by saying: "Nice and easy – nothing raised" 😁👍

Hearing that we got a completely clean bill of health with absolutely no issues found is just wonderful. It’s a massive testament to the care and hard work the EVOTEC crew puts in every single day. We don’t do things to look fancy or impressive - we just care about doing a proper job for our local Salisbury and Wiltshire community.

A huge thank you to our clients for hosting us during the inspections, and to our amazing team for keeping the standards high! 👍

Public speaking nerves are very real! 🫣 If you had told Vaida a few years ago that she’d be standing up in front of a room of local business leaders giving a 15-minute keynote talk, she would have laughed and run a mile! But this morning she braced herself and did exactly that at the Ambassadors Business Breakfast Club

Running a business can feel a bit lonely at times, even when you have an amazing team behind you. Whether you’re a solicitor, a photographer, a therapist, or an alarm engineer, we all face the same growing pains. Having a warm, friendly local room to share those challenges makes a world of difference.

It was a wonderful opportunity to share the EVOTEC Fire & Security story – from her early days in linguistics and copy-editing to how we built the business. We started EVOTEC because we wanted to do things properly – rejecting outdated technology and focusing on absolute quality for our clients and real support for our brilliant field technicians.

Because of the hard work of the EVOTEC crew, we’ve grown organically to a team of 14 based entirely on our Salisbury reputation. We are also incredibly proud to be the only company within 10 miles of Salisbury to hold both NSI Fire Gold and NACOSS Gold accreditations.

Before wrapping up, V left the room with a quick, 1-second safety tip that you can try at your own business or home today: Stop what you’re doing, take a look around your premises, and ask: What could possibly go wrong here, and what would I actually do? It's a brilliant habit to get into!
