Fairview, Harlyn Bay.

The open plan kitchen and dining space. The kitchen is nestled into the corner with a large roof light emitting natural light into the space. A window to the side elevation frames a view of the garden and coast. The large sliding windows cater for the connection between the dining room and the outside.

Planning approval for a scheme in North Cornwall.

The scheme involves a side extension, rear extension, alterations to dormers and re-roofing the building. The internal space has been altered to provide better circulation and flow.

Win a chance to stay at Pentyak with Perfect Stays Ltd!

CFD Architects undertook the design and project management of Pentyak back in 2014 with it still looking newly refurbished!

Again in 2022 CFD Architects were instructed by the clients to design an annexe for the dwelling. The annexe provides a game room/yoga space separate from the house offering a serene escape from the main house.

Scaffolding has come down at our project in Wadebridge for a new build church!

The new building uses Nudura’s XR35 formers. The building is located within a conservation area. The proposed new building reflects the existing buildings characteristics and features.

The building uses locally sourced materials such as delabole slate on the roof, side and rear facades and Trevillett quarried stone. The majority of the delabole slate was salvaged from demolishing the existing building. Other reclaimed slate has been used reducing construction waste and providing a weathered and historical appearance showcasing a building best situated in its area.

Paul from CFD Architects joined 13 other visitors to talk about their career, as part of Brunel Primary and Nursery Academy's 'Aspiration Day' last week. Over the course of the day, 120 children were introduced to a possible career in Architecture and Design.

It was a great opportunity to talk to students about what an architect is and what happens day to day in an architect practice.

Judging for the 'Innette Austin-Smith Work Experience Competition' has been completed! Many thanks to the third year Architecture students and staff at University of Plymouth who have taken to judging this years entries. And the university for hosting the judging.

The 'Innette Austin-Smith Work Experience Competition' is a competition that RIBA Cornwall Branch, RIBA Plymouth and RIBA Exeter Branch host. Results from the entries will be issued soon!

The work experience competition is a great way to give secondary school and college students a better illustration of what the life of an architect or architecture related role entails. It gives the students the experience of the different stages of design and is a lot more fun than shadowing an employee.

Building Control Full Plans Approval with no conditions for this project on Dartmoor, submitted and gained Full Plans within 1 week!

The project involves a large extension to the east elevation and internal alterations to meet the requirements of the clients brief. The east elevation shows a modern extension with profiled metal cladding providing a better connection with the garden and amenity spaces. The south Elevation shows a married facade to that of the existing keeping the visual appearance from a street in keeping with east elevation only visible from the extensive curtilage of the property.

Site Progress at our Project in Trevone.

Cedar Vertical cladding installed looking beautiful! The scheme involves larger front and rear dormers with a complete re-roof to higher standards, a ground floor extensions and internal alterations.

CFD Architects have undertaken the planning application, technical design gaining full plans approval in April and now administrating the contract and undertaking regular site visits.

Noordhoeks main entrance.

The stone walling used on the exterior facade is brought internally through the building providing a cohesive aesthetic and material continuity of the exterior.

The structural columns and beams have been exposed and painted over displaying an industrial aesthetic to the interiors a much wanted desire of the clients.
