This bungalow in Alsagar was given a new lease of life with extensions and changes to the existing layout, creating more space and a much better connection and view to the garden.

Struggling to get planning permission for your home? 🏡

Getting planning permission isn't as easy as some may think if you're planning an extension, a new build or want to make significant changes to your property.

And if you've already had an application refused, it can be very frustrating, especially when you've spent so much time on it and have your heart set on a project.
But a refusal doesn't always mean the end of your plans.

Sometimes, it takes a fresh look at the design by an expert, a better understanding of the planning concerns or a different approach to the application.

We recently shared our planning figures from the last 12 months:
🏡 58 planning applications submitted
🏡 53 approved
🏡 2 successful appeals following refusals

And reviews like Mark's are a lovely reminder of why we do what we do. After three years of trying to get plans approved, he came to DMA and received approval on his first application with us.

Of course, no architect can guarantee planning permission, but we can guarantee to put our experience and knowledge into giving every application the best possible chance.

What if an extension could make your home the place everyone wants to hang out? 🏡

As children get older, having somewhere they can spend time with their friends becomes more and more important. And as parents, it's nice knowing they're safe at home, especially with busy roads and the darker evenings during autumn and winter.

This was a big part of what Julianne and Daniel wanted when they came to us about extending their home in Nantwich.

With twin boys who love having their friends round, they wanted more family space where everyone could spend time together, without the boys having to head out to find somewhere to play or everyone getting on top of each other!

As part of the project, we also created an additional bedroom and utility room, giving the whole family some much-needed extra space. 😁

And if an extension means making your home somewhere your children and their friends actually want to spend time, it's worth it, right?

Are you a visual person? Do you need to see something before you can really picture how it’s going to look? 🏡

Not everyone can look at a floor plan and immediately imagine the layout of a home, and that’s completely understandable – we’re all wired differently!

That’s why we can create 3D walkthroughs like this for our clients, giving you the chance to move through the design, understand how the rooms connect and get a much better feel for the space.

It can also make those design decisions a little easier when you can actually see what you’re working towards.

100 jobs won so far in 2026! 🙌

There are plenty of numbers we could talk about, but behind every one of them is a client who has trusted us with their home, business, land or next big project and we never take that for granted.

It’s been an incredibly busy year so far, and a huge thank you has to go to the whole DMA team for the hard work that goes into every project.

Thank you as well to our clients for putting their trust in us, and to the builders, consultants, suppliers and other professionals we work alongside who help us get these projects moving in the right direction.

And with 53 planning applications approved over the last 12 months (plus two successful appeals!), there have definitely been a few reasons to celebrate in the office. 🥂

We’ve still got three months of 2026 to go… let’s see where we finish!

If you live in Haslington, you might have spotted one of our designs come through your letterbox recently! 👀

We’ve been working with Haslington Parish Council on ideas for the future of the Gutterscroft Centre, including this concept for a modern, flexible community facility.

The proposal is now featured in the Parish Council’s 2026 Community Survey, giving people living in Haslington, Winterley and Oakhanger the opportunity to have their say on what they’d like the future of the centre to look like.

We always enjoy being involved in projects within our local communities, so it’s great to see the conversation now being opened up to the people who could ultimately use the space.
