During my 20 years in the building industry, and vast experience in many projects - from big to small, I have continuously encountered similar issues, these issues often resulting in extra cost not catered for in the customer’s budget.
Using my experience I can sit down with you and review your drawings, plans or design - with the intension to highlight any issues that have not been considered or picked up, potential pitfalls, problems not foreseen, different ways of achieving your project and crucially – hopefully ways of saving you money.
I have been involved in numerous developments which encountered problems, and know of many more, because the Architects drawings were not 100% accurate. Or didn’t account for certain variables. Or didn’t foresee any problems with changing this wall. Or moving this fireplace, or… (etc etc, you get the idea).
These unforeseen mistakes are the ones which cause problems. And almost always half-way through the build or project. But potentially – these could have been spotted much earlier!
I don’t need to spell out the benefits of this, but also by identifying any mistakes at the design stage enables your chosen builder to provide you with a much more accurate and cost effective quotation. (Who doesn’t want that, right?!)
This could be as small as a garden wall (e.g. drainage issues), to complete house refurbishment (many!)... There are potentially numerous savings within the design that you may be unaware of, and identifying these early ensures that the project proceeds and completes as planned, and most importantly…. in budget!..

An example below illustrates the saving made when not replacing the patio at a cost of £5000 but clean, re-grout and seal, cost £1000...a huge saving and the results speak for them selves...
