II Listed Building | Conservation Area | Alterations & Extension | Heritage-Led Design.
Project completed 2025. A careful transformation of a Grade II listed building within a Conservation Area, balancing modern living with the character and significance of the historic property.
The project focused on simplifying the existing layout and increasing space within the existing kitchen/dining room and introducing more natural light and openness, while working within the complexities and restrictions that come with altering a listed building.
The new extension has been designed to sit comfortably alongside the existing fabric, using traditional materials, carefully considered detailing and proportions, while creating a lighter, more functional contemporary home.
A good example of how sensitive conservation and modernisation can work together, allowing an historic building to evolve without losing the qualities that make it special.
