We carried out an EICR yesterday at a beautiful property with several outbuildings. Unfortunately, the installation failed due to unsuitable fittings and accessories being used when the outbuildings were originally wired many years ago.

Over time, moisture and the environment have caused extensive rusting and deterioration. Had suitable non-corrosive, weather-resistant fittings been installed originally, much of this damage could have been prevented.

The good news is the problem can be rectified. The affected fittings and accessories can be removed and replaced with correctly rated, non-corrosive alternatives, bringing the installation back up to a safe and acceptable standard

His existing consumer unit was obsolete and didn’t provide full RCD protection, so we upgraded it to a modern unit and installed his new Ohme EV charger.

Here’s a verAnother EV Charger Back Up and Running!

Our customer contacted us after noticing the ‘i’ indicator on their EV charger was flashing, preventing it from operating correctly.

After carrying out our fault-finding process, we removed the front cover and quickly identified the issue. A cable inside the charger had been pulled under tension during installation, causing it to work loose over time.
