🔧 WE’RE HIRING: HGV Workshop Technician / Mechanic 🔧

Colin W Parker Haulage Ltd is looking for an experienced HGV Technician to run our on-site workshop near Sedbergh, Cumbria.

📍 Ingmire Garage, Sedbergh, LA10 5HR
💰 £38,000–£46,000 DOE + overtime & callout
🏖️ Statutory holidays + bank holidays (+5 extra days after 3 years)
🚛 Fully equipped, modern workshop — servicing our own Scania fleet + 8 loyal external customers

What you’ll be doing:
✅ Servicing, diagnostics & repairs on HGVs and trailers
✅ MOT prep and statutory 6-weekly inspections
✅ Running the workshop day-to-day, largely autonomously
✅ Managing parts, records, and customer relationships

What we’re looking for:
✔️ Proven HGV technician experience (Class 1/2)
✔️ Full UK driving licence + HGV licence
✔️ DVSA/ATF authorisation preferred
✔️ Scania experience a bonus, not essential

This is a hands-on, take-charge role for someone who wants to run their own workshop, backed by a stable, growing family business with long-term customers.

We make it 2 wins from 2 games to start the season as we come out on top in a scrappy affair with Wetheriggs Reserves at Havera Park.

It took until the half hour mark for something of real note to occur, when the ball fell to Jay Ferguson who hit a bouncing ball on the half volley. Luckily for us, it took a deflection off the defenders head and wrong footed the keeper to find the top corner.

That gave us a new spring in our step and it wasn’t long before we doubled our lead, when a defence splitting pass from the seasoned pro Luke Packham, found the onrushing Nathan Todd who laced one across goal and into the far corner.

HT 2-0.

The second half was pretty much the same as the first, not a flurry of chances for either side as we looked to see the game out and keep our clean sheet in tact.

The games killer moment came with 25 minutes to go when a quick throw in down the left hand side, found Liam Mason who chipped a delicate pass behind the defence to leave Todd baring down on goal and side footed past the keeper to double his tally and see us home!

A couple of half chances towards the end came and went for us as we were unable to add to the scoring, but we held strong, managed the game well and saw the match out to secure the 3 points!

Busy weekend over the bank holiday last weekend turfing this rather large lawn area in the sunshine! There was an odd beed of sweat, and some dodgy tan lines, but the end product looked great!
A good team effort from all the girls helping, and we left Beefy watering it all week! ☀️
