This is my latest painting, "Eight Maids a-Milking", painted in oil on canvas and framed in gold, and also available as a mounted A3 print. It is being exhibited this BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY 31st August 2026 for one day only at The George Inn, Selby, from 9AM to 4PM, alongside 120+ other paintings. Do come and see it!

Here is the 8th piece in my ongoing series for The Twelve Days of Christmas.Fitting eight separate maids, each with their own cow, into one canvas felt a bit crowded! Instead, I painted one maid demonstrating while the other seven gather around.Milking is incredibly hard work—something I know firs...

This original painting has come back to me after 33 years, when I lived in Wooburn Green, Buckinghamshire! After a bit of refurbishment it is as good as new, and is for sale both as the original oil on canvas framed in gold wood, and as an A3 mounted print. This picture shows a detail of the whole painting.

A peaceful summer afternoon in the Buckinghamshire countryside. This original oil painting looks across the cricket ground at Wooburn Green towards the hazy woodland beyond. A mature tree dominates the foreground, casting its cool shadow across the sunlit grass, while several groundsmen are trying t...

I am feeling honoured that Selby Abbey has accepted my watercolour and ink 'Selby Abbey on High' picture as prints for sale in their cafe! This all came about because I did their Tower Tour and took loads of pictures from the top of the central tower. If you do pop into Selby Abbey, this is right beside the counter where you buy a coffee. For each one sold in the cafe shop, the Abbey itself gets six pounds, so that will help with the upkeep of this beautiful building.

This print is one from the back catalogue, a view over the rooftops in a French city. It's available in an A4 or A3 sized print, which is then mounted, and can be framed in black on glass or white on glass.

A print of an original watercolour painting from 1993 capturing a sprawling view of the rooftops of La Rochelle on the west coast of France, in which angled planes and interlocking forms create a rhythmic, almost abstract composition. Sun-warmed terracotta tiles glow against soft, muted walls, while...

I exhibit very little so I am really looking forward to this, and I hope lots of people will come. It’s only on for a day, and I shall be exhibiting new work as well as some old favourites, as will we all. Come and see us!

There’s something rather lovely happening in Selby this August Bank Holiday… 👀🎨

The Selby Art Collective is back at The George, Market Place on Bank Holiday Monday, 31st August, and we’d absolutely love to see you there.

Selby always turns out in force to support local artists, and we never take that for granted. Every chat, every visit, every kind word and every purchase means the world to us, so thank you for continuing to champion creativity in our town.

All six of us will be there with a fantastic collection of original artwork, prints and plenty of friendly conversation. Whether you’re looking for the perfect piece for your home, searching for a unique gift, or simply fancy soaking up some creativity for an hour or two, you’re very welcome.

There’s also a market taking place outside The George on the same day, so why not make a day of it? Browse the stalls, pop in and see us, have a chat, and enjoy everything that’s happening in the heart of Selby.

Bring your friends, bring the family… and yes, well-behaved dogs are welcome too! 🐶

This large new watercolour painting of Selby Abbey on High has taken several weeks because there is such a lot of detail, both in the Abbey itself and in the town. If you live here you may be able to spot the roof of your house or shop, far away. The dark building near the horizon is the Leisure Centre, and over on the right the eagle-eyed can spot Sainsbury's! I did the excellent Tower Tour at Selby Abbey to be able to take a photograph of this amazing view. Have you braved the steps yet?!

Here is a large watercolour painting featuring the breathtaking view from the central tower of Selby Abbey, looking down across the historic town along Gowthorpe. The inspiration for this painting came when I exhibited in the Abbey back in May. They were running tower tours, so I couldn't resist goi...
