We’ve been blown away by the enthusiasm of Hawick folk at the public consultation we hosted with Friends of Hawick Mair yesterday - for the proposals for the future use of Hawick Moor, we’ve been exploring traditional forms and the relationship between internal and external spaces, to design a building that’s suitable for all of Hawick’s communities.

Locals - if you missed us yesterday, the boards are on display at ILF Imaging, just down the hill from our Hawick satellite office.

Crafted from locally sourced Douglas Fir and built by skilled local craftspeople, this project with At Birkhill House CIC, creating outdoor shelter and indoor space for their Fleece & Fibre Hub that is both modern and practical has been one of our recent highlights.

One of our favourite parts of working on feasibility studies is making models - These are from an ongoing project in a community setting, designed with an outdoor activity area to shelter visitors from the elements, and with multiple spaces for a range of uses.

We're very proud to to have been a part of bringing this exciting new chapter at Johnstons of Elgin to fruition. It's great to see such investment in the Scottish Borders, and we're looking forward to seeing what the future brings for knitwear in Hawick.
