Chainsaw Hand Cutters Wanted (Self-Employed)

We are currently looking for experienced Chainsaw Hand Cutters to join our team on a self-employed basis, working Monday to Thursday.

Location:

Work will be across the Scottish Borders, Central Belt, and North of England, so flexibility to travel is essential.

What we’re looking for:

• Proven experience with chainsaw operations
• Relevant certifications (e.g. NPTC/LANTRA or
equivalent.
• Strong awareness of health & safety practices
• Ability to work independently and as part of a
team.
• Reliable, hardworking, and professional attitude

Due to our increasing workload we are offering an exciting career opportunity for a young apprentice to join our well established family business.

The role will enable the chosen candidate to become a welder & fabrication engineer. Therefore a keen interest in engineering & machinery is a must.

We are looking for candidates to:
-ideally be between the ages of 17-19 years old within Peeblesshire area.
-Hold a UK driving license (this is preferable but not essential.
-Have enthusiasm to learn on the go.
-Have a reasonable level of basic mathematics.
-Be punctual, proactive and hard working.

This is an exciting career prospect which would mean working with some of the biggest names in forestry & plant.

Project we were lucky to a part of a few years ago removing dead larch from a go ape facility at whinlatter forest , some of the best tree climbers I’ve ever seen. The funniest part of the day was when the helicopter pilot sat in the harvester and said “no way could I drive this !!” 🤣🤣
