Paul King Landscaping The South Wiltshire Horticultural Consultant. Paul King CMTGG Paul King prides his work through exceptional attention to detail and craftsmanship.

Paul King (CMTGG) spent his time growing up in rural South Wiltshire, which provided a beautiful backdrop for inspiration and with a naturally creative side, it wasn’t surprising that his love of the outdoors and nature paved the way for a career in horticulture. Creating an escape from everyday life, Paul builds and maintains his gardens to provide an oasis and tranquil environment for even the s

mallest of spaces.

“Gardens to me provide a unique and exciting canvas. Evolving a garden through the design and construction, whilst remaining attentive and mindful to the natural environment ensures that any design maximises its full potential”

His lifelong passion was realised when he established Paul King Landscaping and now his work is recognised through recommendation.

Im abit of a perfectionist when it comes to hedging but this one really presented a challenge. Having not been managed on the landowners side and no access for our client it had become far too overgrown, in places nearly reaching three metres wide. Whilst not helping with the overall growth of the hedge it had become unmanageable for our client. As you can see from the photos when hedges aren’t managed it will naturally lead to a lot of thicker woody growth, making ongoing future maintenance often more difficult. We completed a reduction on one side and the top, reducing it by up to two feet in places. Whilst not as perfect as I would like, our aim moving forward is two regular cuts a year and Im anticipating we can get this hedge back to its best.

Who doesnt love a pond! This client has a traditional cottage style garden and wanted to have a natural pond that fitted seamlessly into the garden to attract wildlife. This corner lent itself as a perfect spot, partially shaded and located near the house to be viewed from the windows. A shallow end with pebbels and gravel creates a beach inviting smaller wildlife and insects. Marginal shelves allow for the careful selection of various water plants. The liner once cut to shape was dug into the surrounding ground with the aim that the edges will be covered by the surrounding herbaceous plantings. Cant wait to see how it evolves.

These unruly climbers had gone abit beyond our client. Some new wire supports, selective pruning to remove some weight and identify some strong stems allowed me to create a framework from which they will flourish.
Regular training will help keep the plant at its most attractive and healthy.

The frontage to any property cannot only add value, but needs to be attractive aswell as practical. The area adjacent to this cottage had seen better days, years worth of concrete had seen better days. Cue our team, out with the old and in with the new, new Indian Sandstone Paving provides an attractive pathway leading the eye toward the existing arch and the rest of the garden. Finished with new decorative gravel means the area can be used for entertaining or a vehicle.

Fantastic to turn this little front garden into a welcoming space for a wonderful client.
The brief was simple, no loose materials and to create a mediterranean feel courtyard for morning coffee in the sun!
Terracotta porcelain tiles, with a time worn effect, add warmth and works wonders with the patterned blue feature slabs. By changing the direction of the decking at either end, helps the eye not to be taken beyond the garden and adds another point of interest. Two feature pots planted with Fatsias will provide wonderful foliage and will tolerate the latter shade. Now just for the bistro table, chairs and a freshly brewed coffee!

We have been back to these lovely clients who we installed some new decking for in the summer. This time it was to replant the border, preparation is everything, a thorough dig over and incorporation of a peat-free soil improver which will aid with drainage, help break up the soil while slowly releasing nutrients in an environmentally friendly manner.

Finally, we planted up with a mixture of evergreen and deciduous shrubs to provide interest throughout the year and drifts of perennials. Clipped yew balls punctuate the informal border, giving it overall structure.

We provide a care sheet for all panting schemes to enable our clients to get the best from their plants all year round.

Hidden behind this overgrowth was a beautiful quaint cottage and a few years of neglect had led to many of the shrubs out growing the space. We cleared the borders, pruned the existing jasmine & rose and re-trained.

The borders are to be replanted by the client, with advice from us on suitablility and style, in keeping with the period of the cottage and to really enhance the space!

This commercial contract was something a bit different. Once award-winning flower displays, this pubs courtyard garden had seen better days. Existing planters were stripped of the old overgrown plants; cleaned up, painted and replanted.

They will only see this season through but with the easing of lockdown, we wanted to go all out to plant them and new hanging baskets full of fabulous summer colours!

If you are looking for a gardener, you may be overwhelmed by the number of companies offering their services. The RHS - Royal Horticultural Society has identified The Gardeners Guild to be one of the best professional organisations representing gardeners, allowing us to be distinguished from non-qualified individuals.

We are very proud to have been accepted for membership based on our expert work and professional qualifications, a national trade network for qualified gardeners.

Established in 2006, TGG maintains a register of certified gardeners who offer garden and grounds maintenance as part of their services, giving greater assurance when selecting a gardener.

As a client of Paul King Landscaping, you can be confident that you have chosen a TGG member who has been officially trained and formally assessed to meet high horticultural standards.
