Structure becomes building.

The steel frame is drawn, coordinated and clash-checked before a single member is cut. Columns, beams, bracing. Then the architecture lands on top of a frame that already works.

Planning permission granted.

Building 01 for ICR Touch at Sandown Airport. A growing campus that takes disused space and brings it back into use, with new build and retrofit elements working side by side.

Dark profiled cladding, a deep glazed frontage and a landscaped forecourt that gives the arrival a proper front door.

More packages on the site to follow as the business grows.

Getting planners on board early.

We sat down with our client to talk through how we approach planning and design together. Every scheme is tested against planning policy as we draw, so what we design will actually work.

On this one we used pre-application advice to bring the planners in early, shaping the design around their feedback before anything was submitted.

Less risk, fewer surprises, a smoother route to approval.

Checking in with our clients in London .

We sat down with them to talk through how they’re finding the process so far. This one is a full renovation and remodel of an end terrace house, with us alongside them from stage 1 through to 7.

We’re currently in stages 3 and 4, progressing the works we can deliver under permitted development while the wider scheme takes shape.

For us this is the part that matters. Good architecture is a process you go through together, not just a set of drawings.

The garden side.

Terraces stepping down the slope, native planting, and a standing seam metal roof. Materials chosen to suit the site and weather in quietly.

Cladding going on.

The bit clients rarely see is the bit that decides everything. Before a single board went up, there is a batten and counter batten grid holding a 30mm ventilated cavity behind the face.

That cavity is what keeps the wall dry. Air in at the bottom, out at the top, mesh at both ends so nothing nests in it.

Then the details. Corner posts set out so the boards die into a clean line. Soffit and eaves closed properly. Setting out checked before anything is fixed, because you only get one go at a shadow gap.

Now the face is on. Crisp vertical rhythm, black frames against white boards, and lanterns landing exactly where they were drawn.

Slow, ordinary, careful work. That is what good buildings are made of.
