🏡 Planning Approved!

We're delighted to have secured full planning approval for this exciting extension and alteration project near High Bickington.

The client's original vision was to extend the existing bungalow upwards to create additional bedrooms and a spacious open-plan living area. While this would have achieved the accommodation they needed, we felt the site had the potential to offer something even better.

With the land falling away significantly, we designed a side extension that cuts into the slope, creating a bright new family day room with direct access onto the garden. Instead of relying on raised patios or decking, the design works with the site's natural levels to create a seamless connection between the home and the outside space.

Great design isn't just about adding more space, it's about understanding the site and making it work as hard as possible.

We're delighted to have submitted plans for this replacement dwelling on behalf of local clients in Buckland Filleigh.

The proposal replaces an ageing bungalow with a contemporary family home designed around modern living, energy efficiency and a strong connection to its rural surroundings. Featuring generous open-plan living spaces, integrated renewable technologies and carefully considered landscaping, the new home seeks to create a sustainable future while remaining respectful of its Devon setting.

An incredible building with so much history, and one that will be carefully shaped using our BAVRE™ process to inform key views, light, and spatial experience.

Willow House 🌿

Named after the willow tree planted here by the family 25 years ago.

This new build dwelling was carefully designed using our BAVRE™ process to protect neighbouring privacy while still capturing light, views and connection to the garden.

The highlight? A cantilevered glazed corner off the family day room, opening the house up to the landscape and proving that even with a modest build budget, great architecture can still make a statement.

A replacement residence in Widemouth Bay, designed around a single non-negotiable:

Where neighbouring schemes are approved, the risk to outlook, privacy and ultimately value is real. Sophisticated land buyers and developers understand that optimism is not a strategy, they verify.

As 2025 draws to a close, we just want to say a huge thank you.

To our clients, thank you for trusting us with your homes, ideas, and ambitions. To the builders, engineers, and consultants we’ve worked alongside, thank you for your collaboration, craftsmanship, and problem-solving on site.

From sensitive rural conversions to new homes and thoughtful extensions, this year has been all about good design, strong relationships, and projects rooted in place. We’re incredibly proud of what’s been achieved together.

We’re now looking ahead to 2026 with some exciting projects on the horizon, and we can’t wait to share what’s next.
