More from our Harworth project.

A contemporary two-storey rear extension designed to transform this family home in Harworth, Doncaster.
The brief was simple: create more space, improve the connection to the garden, and introduce a modern open-plan layout for a growing family. The result is a light-filled rear addition with large sliding doors and a carefully balanced mix of brick and render to complement the existing house.

Five years into renovating our own home (about four years longer than planned).

Working on your own space happens slowly, room by room, around real life and work. Every room has started in the same way you see here: sketching layouts, furniture, colour, and lighting until it feels right before anything is built.

Taking the time to work through ideas early on helps avoid rushed decisions later and ensures the space is considered holistically, not element by element.

Final image: The room as it was when we first got the keys. A starting point, not a design decision.

I’ll be sharing more personal project work over the next few weeks.

We're delighted to share our proposal for this 1920s/30s home in Eckington, Derbyshire. A two-storey side and single-storey rear extension, alongside a loft conversion, has been designed to reimagine how the space works for its current owners and the way they live today.

We’re excited to share that our design for this subtle two-storey side and single-storey rear extension has just received planning approval.

The project will create a generous open-plan kitchen, living and dining space to the rear, along with a utility room, downstairs WC and a dedicated playroom to the front. Upstairs, we’ve added an additional bedroom and a larger family bathroom within the new footprint.

Looking forward to seeing this one progress. Now on to the technical design!

The second of two applications that were submitted last week.

This proposal is for a subtle two-storey side and single-storey rear extension to a family home, designed to enhance day-to-day living while remaining in keeping with the existing property.

To the rear, the extension opens up the ground floor to create a generous open-plan kitchen, living, and dining space, ideal for modern family life. A new utility room and downstairs WC have been incorporated, and to the front, a dedicated playroom provides a flexible space for their young child.

Upstairs, we've also added an additional bedroom and a larger family bathroom to better support the family now and into the future.

A simple, well-considered addition that brings a new perspective to the property's layout.

1 of 2 applications submitted this week! This project involves the reworking of a period property that originally comprised two separate dwellings, one of which had previously been extended.

The existing extension had been poorly considered, with little regard for the flow or function of the internal spaces. Our proposal reimagines this, introducing two dedicated studio spaces for our clients, who both work from home, one created within the existing footprint, and the other as part of a new, more cohesive extension.

The internal layout has been carefully reconfigured to provide clearer separation between living and working areas, along with a more defined and welcoming entrance.

Looking forward to seeing this one progress.

We're currently developing facade options for a bungalow renovation and extension in Clowne, Derbyshire.

One explores a simple, fully timber-clad finish. The other pairs hit-and-miss vertical timber cladding with silicone render for added depth and contrast.

Both offer a contemporary take on the original home, each with its own sense of character.

Before & After...

These are our sketch proposals for a detached home in Harworth, Doncaster.

The two-storey rear extension adds a fifth bedroom upstairs and enlarges the kitchen on the ground floor. The internal layout has been reconfigured to improve flow throughout the property, while creating additional space for a multifunctional sewing room and a downstairs WC/utility.

At the front, a single-storey porch extension lifts and modernises the elevation, enhancing the entrance.
