Based in Sheffield, Pictorial Meadows was founded by Professor Nigel Dunnett of the University of Sheffield out of an intensive research programme. Eventually seed mixes were developed based on the robustness, length of flowering and the aesthetic quality of the displays. The Pictorial Meadow mixes were noted for their outstanding returns from minimal inputs but which also had excellent environmen
tal and biodiversity value. The company received much praise for the work it carried out in the Olympic Park in 2012 - since when it has completed significant projects all over the country and the sales of Pictorial Meadow products have continued to soar in popularity. The company continues to develop it's seed ranges and now supplies seed to hundreds of councils, commercial organisations, sports arenas, property owners and private homeowners every year. Seeds are available online through the company website or can be obtained at most RHS shops, the Eden Project, Sarah Raven and DeJager. Other products available include Pictorial Meadow Mats which provide 'instant' areas of naturalistic planting which can be combined with seed and bulbs to create extensive and beautiful landscapes. Pictorial Meadows also provides expert advice to Architects, Property Developers, Heritage Property owners, Councils and Planners with regard to naturalistic planting schemes and has its own specialist teams to carry out the implementation and maintenance.
