Just had a lovely review from a new customer. So nice when people show their appreciation!

'Dave and Lucas did a brilliant job today.
Nothing was too much trouble and they even did more than I asked for (clearing a slippery, mossy path). I would wholeheartedly recommend them. Dawn who I dealt with for the administration was great too.
I will definitely have them back. Howard'.

Hi folks,

You may have noticed a lack of blog posts these last couple of weeks. This is due to our lovely blogger, Fay, becoming a Mom for the first time recently. Needless to say this means that she is rather preoccupied with more important things at the moment and so she is having a few weeks off from producing her beautifully written blog posts. Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible.

We hope you all join us in congratulating her on her beautiful new arrival! 🍼🧸🎈

Evening folks,

It’s feeling more gloriously autumnal by the day, and the sun’s still blessing us with a few warmer days too! 🍁🍂🌞
Dawn & Dave have been busy as ever with the garden tidying and this week has included a spot of tree-felling for a new customer 🌳🪵
There’s been some rare indoor work on the cards as well; thinning out and repotting some hefty houseplants for a regular of ours - supervised by their two mischievous cats! 🌵🐱

Evening folks,

Some very changeable weather on the cards this week but that’s what Autumn’s all about isn’t it? Still, that hasn’t stopped our resident husband-and-wife duo from firing on all cylinders 😁 The star of the show comes in the form of one colossal raised bed constructed from scratch; a dry stone wall built by hand which has been topped up with compost, beautifully planted up and the border strimmed as a wonderful finishing touch - my goodness doesn’t it look amazing?! That is one lucky customer 🤩

On the wildlife front we’re definitely heading into what I like to call ‘Spider Season’ 🕷🕸 As gardeners we frequently lose count of how many we walk in to at this time of year - usually face-first might I add! I’m sure Dave’s glad he spotted these cobwebs before he ended up wearing them 😂

Evening folks,

It’s been feeling a bit summery over the last few days and we’re very glad to be outside to enjoy it! We’re still storming ahead with a glut of new customers and finishing up a project or two here and there for existing ones.

Dawn’s taken some lovely photos of a recent garden tidy which really showcase the high standard of work we aim for here at Shepton Garden Services - and doesn’t it look amazing? Take a look at the artificial grass project too, very smart indeed!

And lastly, we’re seeing the beginnings of mushroom season 🍄 stay tuned for plenty more discoveries in the woodland in the coming weeks, it puts on a really spectacular show this time of year 😁

Evening folks,

Thankfully it’s been less of a wash-out this week because we’ve been super busy with lots of work for new customers! 🤩
Dave & Dawn have completed a number of wonderful garden and border transformations as of late; from some simple strimming to full-on border clearances and gravelling, there’s been a nice bit of variety as we get into the swing of Autumn 🍂🍁

Finally, if you’d like some garden TLC before the end of the year, or you fancy giving a loved one the gift of a garden makeover for Christmas, then be sure to get in touch asap as we’re now taking bookings for December ❄️

Evening folks,

One rather wild and changeable week we’ve just had! From gale-force winds and torrential rain to some gorgeous Autumn sunshine, we’re struggling to keep up with the weather from one day to the next 😂

Thankfully we were graced with enough blue sky to crack on with a good bit of hedge trimming and flowerbed beautification for some of our customers 🌺 Dawn’s done an excellent job of capturing her own handiwork and also Dave in action, check out the photos below!

Good evening folks,

Dahlias, sunflowers and home-grown veg galore for you this week! As well as some absolutely gorgeous before-and-afters of flowerbed maintenance for new and old customers alike - cracking stuff 😁🌿🌻

The dahlias and sunflowers have been lovingly grown by a long-term customer of ours, and I’ve thrown in a couple of my mum’s for good measure as they’re too good to miss! Aaron did a great job of strimming around the dahlia beds to keep it all looking nice and tidy 👌

Dawn’s been super busy with her weeding duties this week and what a difference it’s made to some of our gardens 🤩 not long now until it all slows down and she can finally have a bit of respite!

Last up we’ve got some more of Dave’s veg experiments; a globe cucumber and a tomato plant which has taken on a life of its own and decided to outgrow the greenhouse 😂 I must admit, I’ve never tried a globe cucumber before but I’d highly recommend it, they’re delicious!

We’re feeling grateful for a somewhat cooler start to the week here at Shepton Garden Services - a surprise 30-degree heatwave at this time in the year is a bit much isn’t it?! 🌞

Still, we ploughed on and made good progress with our usual garden beautification duties; from Dave’s tree-trimming to Dawn doing some home renovations for local wildlife! Lovely stuff 🥰

It’s been good to see the sunshine again hasn’t it?! 🌞 We almost thought Autumn had decided to come early!

The warm weather over the last couple of days has given Dave, Dawn & Aaron the chance to catch up on their own gardens for a change! 🌸 Shepton Garden Services HQ has received quite the end-of-season makeover and Aaron’s garden is looking bloomin’ lovely too 🌻🌺 it’s great to be able to give you all an insight into our own personal gardening experiences outside of work so feel free to check out the photo gallery below 👇

Good morning folks 😁

Lots of variety last week! From painting to our general garden beautification duties, to showing off some very wonky veg indeed 🤪

I’ve spent this week on some lighter, less energetic projects like giving a few fence panels a lick of paint, and doing my best to avoid the most colossal false widow spider I’ve ever seen. Talk about raised blood pressure 😵‍💫🕷 Mostly though we’ve been getting Aaron settled in with our regulars and his work seems to have left an excellent impression thus far - check out the hedge trimming in action and the very tidy lawn cut in the photographs. Our resident lawn maestro was very happy indeed with the results!

The grapevine at the Horseshoe Inn has been bearing some gorgeous fruit as of late - could we be seeing the beginnings of a Shepton vintage I wonder?! Dave’s own veg endeavors have yielded one very bendy cucumber, which as we can all agree, he should be very proud of 😂

Evening folks,

Lots of shoveling, mowing and power washing on the agenda for this week just to mix it up! Dave’s been showing us how it’s done with the hedge trimmers and my my, isn’t that laurel looking beautiful?! 🤩

We’ve been hard at work doing a complete garden removal from start to finish, which includes replacing it with several tonnes of gravel. Check out the before/after pictures below, it’s quite the transformation - I’m sure there was a sore back or two mind in the days that followed!

A couple of patios have been given some TLC too this week; Dawn’s been sprucing one up with some power-washing while Aaron and I thoroughly weeded and added grit to another as an alternative to pointing. Happy customers all round 😁
